Education is a fundamental task crucial for generations to come,while teachers are the center for education.To achieve national prosperity,national rejuvenation and the development of education,we need to vigorously cultivate professional teachers with noble morality,professional skills,reasonable structure,and dynamic quality.As a group of special and young college teachers,their proportion in college teachers is growing,and they gradually become the dominant forces in the sustainable and healthy development of colleges.However,under the influence of various social ethos,some young teachers' shaken ideals and beliefs,and the decline of moral standards severely affect the right directions of college administration.Research on the influence of social ethos on young college teachers' thoughts not only is a vital project in China's strengthening ideological construction,but also is an urgent task in the ideological and political education in college.This dissertation will analyze the impacts of socialethos on young college teachers and the solutions.Adhering to the idea of "people-oriented",I have selected eight social ethos which have deep impacts on college young teachers to investigate and analyze their impacts on young college teachers,namely,neoliberalism,historical nihilism,nationalism,innovative Marxism,postmodernism,social democracy,universal values and public intellectuals.Through empirical study and analysis of the thoughts and actual performance of young college teachers from different political affiliation,different majors,different positions,different titles,and different academic experiences under the influence of social ethos,and combining theories from many disciplines like Marxist human science,management,sociology,psychology,pedagogy and so on,this dissertation puts forward the effective solutions to strengthen the pertinence and effectiveness of the ideological and political work of young college teachers.This paper is divided into five chapters.Chapter 1 mainly discusses the research significance of the topic,defines relevant concepts,and introduces research review,research targets,basic outline,research priorities and innovative points and so on.Chapter 2 mainly analyzes the social ethos by using basic theories,the focus of which is on the connotation of social ethos and the elaboration of the economic conditions,social conditions,and ideological and cultural conditions of social ethos.Then,on the basis of a combination of theories and practices,this paper summarizes the general features of social ethos and new characteristics in certain areas of ideology and social practice of social ethos in modern times,and then raises the eight main categories of social ethos and elaborates their history,basic theories and practical performance.Chapter 3 is the core section of this paper and is the foundation to carry out basic research in the latter half.This chapter includes the empirical analysis of contemporary social ethos' ideological influence on the young college teachers.It elaborates the questionnaire design of young college teachers' moral condition,samples and frequency distribution,and analyzes in details the pertinence between research objects' basic elements(political affiliation,education,major,profession,title,academic experience,etc.)and awareness and recognition of social ethos,thus summarizing the main ideological features of current young college teachers and the causes.Chapter 4 analyzes the connections between current socialethos and young college teachers'ideological and political work,and then puts forward the idea that these two aspects should develop together in collision.Based on the experiences and lessons of young college teachers' ideological and political work,then I summarize the current challenges and opportunities,which forms the theoretical and practical groundwork for coming up with solutions in the next chapter.Chapter 5 is the foothold of the research in this dissertation,that is,how to strengthen the ideological and political work of young college teachers and how to use the socialist core valuesto lead the social ethos.This chapter mainly responds to the challenges of contemporary social ethos on the ideological and political education of college young teachers,suggesting that we should correctly treat and study social ethos,defend the "high potential" status of Marxism,create favorable social atmosphere and positively explore the scientific path for the ideological and political education of college young teachers.Ultimately,this dissertation will focus on the college young teachers themselves,putting forward that we should realize the self-education of college young teachers on the theoretical and practical levels,and strengthen the college young teachers' "resistibility" and"immunity" towards harmful social ethos.
