The Western Xia rulers promoted Buddhism vigorously.Therefore,Buddhist ideology in the society of the Western Xia Dynasty occupies an extremely important position,eventually the Western Xia once has published a large number of Buddhist scriptures.The legacy of the Western Xia Buddhist scriptures probably divided into two categories,one is Chinese version,which the Western Xia took the Chinese Buddhist scriptures from the Song Dynasty;The other is the Western Xia translated from the Sanskrit and Tibetan Buddhist versions.The Tangut Buddhist scriptures not only enriched the Chinese Tripitaka content greatly,but retains the original features of Sanskrit and Tibetan Buddhist scriptures.In the Western Xia the Great Prajnaparamita has a multiple versions,in the Western Xia the Buddhist scriptures has the largest number of the surviving Buddhist scriptures.Contains the first 400 volumes and 50 volumes of the second part,the 450 volume,was unearthed in 1909 from the Heishui City ruins.The original reservoir in the Russian Academy of Sciences of Oriental Literature Research,edited by Oriental Literature Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences and China Academy of Social Sciences,Ethnology and Anthropology Research,Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House published in December 2011 to photocopy the Russian hidden Heishui City Literature(Volume 16).The Western Xia Buddhist literature,which cultural flavor is very profound.Based on the Research and Explanation of the Prajnaparamita Sutra,which outlines the overall style of the Western Xia Culture for us.The Western Xia combined with its historical tradition,social status and the development stages of,while learn the advanced experience of Song Dynasty.Even a certain degree of innovation,to maintain social stability.Especially the creation of scripts that promoted the cultural prosperity,enhanced the independence and self-confidence of the Western Xia in the foreign relations.The Prajna paramita Sutra is a compilation of Buddhist classics of Prajna class,which has an important influence in Mahayana buddhism.The Western Xia translation versions represented the highest level.Therefore,through the systematic study of the Scriptures specifications,origin and copy characteristics,and proofreading and Chinese editor,confirms the existing research result of the Western Xia Characters,words,grammar.That will enriche the understanding of the Western Xia and enhance our understanding of Tangut translation of Chinese literature translation characteristics.To understand the society,culture,religion,language,and Buddhist history of the Western Xia,and provide a credible information for the study of northwest dialect in Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty.Due to cultural differences between the Western Xia and Chinese languages,the Western Xia scriptures translation bound into the understanding of the Western Xia.The Western Xia adopted translation methods of literal translation and free translation.Due to the Buddhist esoteric,voluminous,together with different level of translators and experience,and the rulers for consolidate regime purpose.Therefore,errors and omissions is also very difficult to avoid.The writing style of Chufenzhugongdexiangpin reflects that that was not finished by one person.The source of the Western Xia Buddhist terminology is based on Buddhist scriptures differently.Most of them are translated from Chinese Buddhist scriptures,followed the Chinese version translated by Xuanzang basically.And the new term is less.Visible,in the translation of Buddhist terms,the Western Xia adhered both fully and faithfully to the original,and combined the characteristics of the Western Xia culture,which will promot the spread of Buddhism in the Western Xia society.
