New Interpretations Of Guangya

Guangya,a dictionary wrote by Zhang Yi at the Three Kingdoms period,contains previous interpretations of encyclopedia nouns and common words.By the quantity of later scholars' reference to it,Guangya is the third important ancient Chinese dictionary,after Shuowen Jiezi and Erya.Few people studied it in ancient times,which is not commensurate with its value.Until the Qing Dynasty,Lu Wenchao,Qian Dazhao,Wang Niansun three experts appeared.Among them,Wang Niansun is particularly famous by his Guangya Shuzheng.But also because of the greatness of Wang's book,Guangya's brilliance is veiled.After Wang,there is no more comprehensive study on the interpretations in Guangya.A primary reason says there is no noticeable breakthrough and expansion of research ideas,technical means and materials used.Summarized the shortage of the existing Guangya research,this paper established the interpretations as the research object,revealed the multilayer composite feature of interpretations,guided the elucidation of interpretations in Guangya with contextual perspective,analyzed the influence of the ancients pragmatic habits on the creation of interpretations.New ideas,new methods and new materials were utilized to further excavate the value of Guangya content.Interpretations in Guangya,the literature handed down from ancient times,unearthed documents were put together as a crossover study.New achievements obtained include:Some difficult problems in Guangya were solved.Some mistakes in the past research were rectified.A large number of language issues in Erya,Shuowen Jiezi,classical documents and unearthed documents were discussed with different opinions.More than two hundred revision opinions to the Great Chinese Dictionary were proposed.Guangya was born in the transitional period of the main writing carrier,from bamboo and silk to paper.So there is a natural connection between Guangya and unearthed bamboo-silk manuscripts.Guangya for the study of bamboo-silk manuscripts,bamboo-silk manuscripts for the study of Guangya,both are of great significance.Therefore,a separate chapter was established for detailed analysis.
