Collation And Study Of The Poetic And Related Materials On Bamboo And Silk Manuscripts

The Book of Songs has a high status in ancient Chinese culture and the academic tradition,and the study of The Book of Songs has been a focus of Chinese ancient academic research,since the 1970 s a lot of unearthed materials on bamboo and silk from the Warring States period and the Western Han and Eastern Han dynasties have been discovered one after another,many materials are closely related with the study of The Book of Songs,with extremely high academic value,providing important new materials for the studies of The Book of Songs.This paper takes The Book of Songs in the Warring States and Western Han and Eastern Han dynasties on bamboo and silk manuscrips as its research object,involving 14 batches of relevant materials,among which 11 batches have been published and 3 batches have not been officially published.We divide these materials into 4 categories: ancient editions of The Book of Songs,quotations of The Book of Songs,commentaries on Songs,and scattered poems,we conduct a comprehensive study on the text arrangement,variants,poetic meaning and related historical issues of The Book of Songs.In Chapter 1,we study the ancient book of The Book of Songs,quotations of The Book of Songs,commentaries of The Book of Songs,and scattered poems.Among them,the content mainly involves the form of bamboo slips and the explanation and interpretation of words and phrases;we have collected the relevant opinions of the former scholars and put forward some new opinions on the two aspects.we also put forward some new views on the explanation and interpretation of some texts,and supply some new evidences for the existing opinions in the academic discussions.In Chapter 2,we make a concentrated study on the variants and some related questions.We discuss the general scale of The Book of Songs in the warring states period,the reasons for the high proportion of variants in Han bamboo slips in Fuyang,and the method of judging the school of poetics of bamboo slips and silks by variantsIn Chapter 3,we study on the poetic meaning of the bamboo and silk texts including ancient book of The Songs,quotation of Songs and commentary of Songs,.This chapter analyzes the meaning of quotation and commentary of Songs in the related texts one by one,discussing the characteristics of the quotation and commentary of Songs in bamboo and silk manuscripts,and based on these studies,we probes into the ideological implication and clutch for age in the materials etc.In Chapter 4,we mainly study the related problems of The Book of Songs in bamboo and silk manuscripts and academic history of The Book of Songs in the warring states period and the Western Han and Eastern Han dynasties.Among them,it involves the quotation of The Book of Songs when discussing abstract concepts,and the quotation of satirical poems in “Xiao Ya” in Zisi's work,together with some other related problems.The text nature of the three articles: “Qi Ye”,“Zhou Gong Zhi Qin Wu”,“Rui Liang Fu Bi” in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips;Three quotations of The Book of Songs in the Han wooden Slips from Jianshui Jinguan;the discussion on the academic value of the quotation and the commentary of The Book of Songs texts which are scattered in the bamboo and silk manuscriptures of the Han dynasty,etc.
