Purpose:With the imbalance in the body, diabetes has a great negative impact on human's body, especially to the elderly patients with diabetes, which leads to falls among the elderly, causing great hardship to them. Therefore, our objective was to determine the relationship between the balances of patients with diabetes and vitamin D,and to provide new methods and ideas for clinical prevention and treatment of balance disorders in diabetic patients.Methods:1.125 cases of type 2 diabetes were assigned to 4 groups depended on serum 25(OH)D3 levels as normal group(group A),short for serum 25(OH)D3 group(group B),a lack of serum 25(OH)D3 group(group C),and a serious lack of serum 25(OH)D3 group(group D).And to compare the balance between these four groups, flat plantar pressure was measured.2.125 patients with type 2 diabetes were divided to 3 groups,as placebo group or vitamin D group(the patient's serum 25(OH)D3 is deficiency),and normal group(diabetes people whose serum 25(OH)D3 is normal). To determine the relationship between the balances of patients with diabetes and vitamin D,the subjects were given vitamin D or placebo for twelve weeks,respectively.Results:1.TTWof the serious lack of serum 25(OH)D3 group is 126.48 ± 47.51mm,and EA is 11.23±8.83mm2.Compared with normal group, all of these data was significantly increased(P<0.05).In addition, analyzed by Multiple regression, the data showed TTW(137.722-1.703 25(OH)D3,p=0.000)and EA(12.524-0.219 25(OH)D3,p=0.000)are as independent negative correlation.2.TTW and EA of pre-dose placebo group or vitamin D group(TTW = 109.62±27.52 mm.EA= 10.08±2.71mm2 or TTW = 112.35±28.80 mm EA= 10.86±3.45mm2)were significantly more than the normal group(TTW = 79.23± 13.8 mm,EA= 6.12±2.70 mm2,p<0.05),and after administered twelve weeks, the ability of balance of placebo group(TTW = 101.02±20.41 mm,EA=10.04±4.19 mm2)were more than vitamin D group(TTW =75.89±21.25 mm,EA=7.21±4.67mm2,p<0.05),and vitamin D group is similar as normal group(TTW = 74.23± 11.44mm,EA=6.26±2.18 mm2).It indicates that vitamin D can enhance the balance in diabetic patients.ConclusionThe relationship between vitamin D levels and Static balance is independent negative correlation, which means the lower the vitamin D levels in patients with type 2 diabetes, the higher the risk of falls. These results suggest that detecting vitamin D levels from blood could evaluate disorders in patients with diabetes balance in clinic.Furthermore, diabetes patients take a certain amount of vitamin D can treat balance disorders diabetes symptoms.
