Objective:To summarize the academic thought, clinical experience and characteristics in the treatment of cough variant asthma (CVA) of professor Zhou Changkun who is the tutor of the fifth national traditional Chinese medicine doctor inheritance-work. To inherit and develop her academic ideas on the basis of summing-up.Methods:1. To summarize the academic thought from learning published papers and books of the tutor's and her students'.2.To record the tutor's four-TCM-method characteristics and patients'conditions from learning her prescription; try to recover the tutor treatment ideas; to summarize the tutor's clinical experiences of treating various diseases include internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics and gynecology diseases by using treating liver and spleen together and resolving blood stasis.3. To explore the tutor's experience and clinical rules of treating diseases through collecting the prescriptions of treating CVA and statistics and analysis the using herbs and couple herbs by cluster sampling method in the learning period.4. To learn classics books of Traditional Chinese Medicine and books of ancient famous doctors; to innovate and develop our ideas in clinical practice based on tutor's academic thought and clinical experience.Results:The first part:the summary of academic thought1.Tutor has familial and college academic thought.Tutor graduated from Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and learned from old famous traditional Chinese Medicine doctors in Yunnan province such as Wu Peiheng, Dai Huifen, Meng Ru. Affected by her grandfather Mr. Chen Luoshu, tutor read classic books of Chinese medicine in her childhood. At the same time tutor learned familial academic thought deeply. It has familial and college characteristics in tutor's clinical practice.2.Liver and spleen have close relationship and to treat liver and spleen together as the instruction. Tutor's view is as following: ?The understanding of "liver spleen correlation" is more comprehensive. ? The correlation between liver and spleen, mutual coordination in other viscera function.? The correlation between liver and spleen, liver as the guide.?Presenting twelve methods to treat liver and spleen together.3. There are 14 relative factors: Fl:Qianhu Yuxingcao Gualouke; F2:Zhimahuang Dilong Chuanbei; F3:Jingjie Xingreng Jiangcan; F4:Gancao Zhike Baibu; F5:Shashen Mimenghua; F6:Huangqin Fuling; F7:Fangfeng Baizhi Huangqi; F8:Chaihu Chuanxiong; F9: Jiegeng Chantui Sutiaoshen; F10:Lianqiao Chonglou Baizhi; Fl 1:Niubangzi; F12:Pipaye; F13:Fabanxia Zhimu; F14:Ziwan taoreng.Conclusion:1.Through learning my traditional Chinese medicine theory and clinical level have been greatly improved,the "liver spleen correlation" and "phlegm stasis correlation" theory has been applicated in clinic.2. We provide some research ideas and methods to some certain extent through the analyzed prescription and herbs to treat CVA.3. The tutor thought CVA pathogenesis is "wind invades lung, and then liver and spleen,at last disordered liver spleen and lung". The cause of the disease is that wind invades lung, and then liver and spleen,the three Zang organs effected each other. The treatment theory is to treat wind, Qi, phlegm and stasis. The common herbs and couple herbs reflect the following treatment principle:course wind, regulate Qi, transform phlegm, quicken the blood, cleat the liver and fortify the spleen.
