A Study Of Ship Structure In Ancient China Form The Perspective And Of Artistic Design

China is a country with long and glorious history in ship building and sailing. It plays an important role in the world history of ship building and sailing. As the development of ship building technology, the forms of ancient ships are diversified and the functions are more comprehensive. From the invention of dugout canoe to the creation of huge-size ship, from internal navigation to the success of shipping across the Indian Ocean, all these have proved the impendence and creativity of China's ship in water activities.From the perspective of the existing researches, the research direction mainly focuses on several majors related to ship building, such as mechanics, dynamics and materials science etc. At least, those researches interpret the ship in ancient China based on some fields, such as form and technology, form and function, form and aesthetics as well as form and culture etc. Therefore, the author of this paper wishes to take the form of ships in ancient China as the study subject from the perspective and thought of design, so as to achieve better innovative significance. Besides, the author also expects to break through the limitations of previous study of ancient ship, have an in-depth study and exploration of its artistic potentiality and value with the knowledge acquired in classes, so as to prove and find out the internal logistic relations through detailed data and reasonable arguments, and highlight its artistic values.In the paper, it will analyze and interpret the development history of ship building art, and the evolution of its function and form in ancient China. Analysis and study will be carried out through comprehensive research methods such as literature study, graph analysis, chart illustration and field survey etc.1. To clarify and reorganize the existing document and research results through selection and analysis. To breakthrough the limitation of previous researches and has an in-depth study with mutual reflection of multiple subjects such as history, archaeology, art and aesthetics. Try to collect various kinds of materials appeared in archaeology, literature, poetry and painting and restore the original shape of ship with research methods of relevant archaeologies, so as to explore the artistic charm from its formal structure, functional features, art technology and aesthetic culture.2. To feel the aesthetic perception of the design of ship form in ancient China and the representation of artistic features in traditional technology again, so as to break through the limitation of previous study of general history and have an in-depth understanding of the historical and cultural background, so as to clarify the important role of its art form in design art and its existing historical value.3. Try to realize the mutual reflection among “form and process”, “form and function”, “form and aesthetic”, and “form and function” in the paper, and then have an in-depth study of its art form and thoughts in creation, so as to obtain a new perspective and view point for the study of ship form.By studying the development ship form in ancient China, we could obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the ship building thoughts and essence in ancient China. It stresses on the inheritance and developments, so as to understand the development history of artistic design better.
