Research On The Interactive Development Between Cultural Creative Industry Cluster Areas And Urban Space

Following the rapid development of globalization and creative economy, theurban spatial structure and function have been greatly changed. Consequently theresearch on the cultural and creative industry cluster area and the transformation ofthe urban space become two critical topics for today s urban development.As a carrier of the culture creative industry agglomeration and development, the formation of the industrial district is not only directly reflects the changing social and economic patterns and urban spatial structure, but also as the important source of energyfor remodeling the image of urban space and function.The research starts from the systematic interpretation of the urban attribute of thecultural and creative industry cluster area, then analyses the relations between thecluster area and urban culture, economy, society and physical spaces, and theirmanifestation on the urban spatial structure. Subsequently, the research reveals theinteractive relation and action mechanism of the development of cultural and creativeindustry cluster area, urban renewal of ancient city, and the new scientific andtechnological area. Eventually it discusses the development trend of the cultural andcreative industry cluster area and the transformation of urban space. The thesis hasbeen organized by following the thinking method of proposing, analyzing, andsolving the problems, and it has been developed into eight chapters: the introductionas the first one, from the second to the seventh belong to the main part, and the lastone is the conclusion.The second chapter is for the overview of the relevant theories. It summarizes thedefinition, conceptual scope, and characteristic of the cultural and creative industryand its cluster area. The relevant theories mainly focus on the topics of urban space,the spatial cluster of cultural and creative industry, and the concept of creative city.Through the study on the basic theories of urban spatial structure and creative city,this chapter analyzes the characteristics and trends of the spatial cluster of the culturaland creative industry, consequently forms the whole framework of research.The third chapter is for the cases study. The cases focus on the foreignexperiences of the development of cultural and creative industry cluster areas, and therelated inspiration and enlightenment. Meanwhile this chapter also analyses the current problems existed during the development of cultural and creative industrycluster areas in China, as lessons and references of our research.The fourth chapter creates the relationship framework of the cultural and creativeindustry cluster area and the transformation of urban space. The cluster areas play arole as the basic spatial units of the city which tends to be multi-functional complex,and coordinates with the urban space to assure mutual sustainable development. Fromthe four aspects-culture, society, economy, and physical space, this chapter revealsthe interactive relation and action mechanism of the development of cultural andcreative industry cluster area and the transformation of the urban spatial structure.The fifth chapter creates the relationship framework of the cultural and creativeindustry cluster area and the urban renewal of ancient city, where the cluster area canact as the spatial catalyst to encourage and promote the whole renewal of ancient cityin various aspects.The sixth chapter creates the relationship framework of the cultural and creativeindustry cluster area and the new scientific and technological area, where the culturaland creative industry and high-tech industry can jointly construct the urban innovativespatial system; On the other hand, the cultural and creative industry cluster area canbe regard as the effective approach to introduce culture in the new urban area.The seventh chapter focuses on the case study of Beijing. Through the analysisof the critical elements of the cluster areas spatial layout and features of their spatialdistribution, this chapter discusses and demonstrates the relevance of cultural andcreative industry cluster area, urban renewal of ancient city, and the new scientific andtechnological area.
