Between January and December2011-2012, in order to approach the effects of different habitat types in Hohhot on insect diversity, an investigation was conducted on the insects in four types of habitats in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. A total of5305insects were collected, belonging to164species,76families and11orders, among which, Orthoptera, Hemiptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, Hymenoptera were the dominant taxa.On the basis of a comprehensive investigation, combined with the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, evenness index, dominance index, density formula, the systematic analysis of Hohhot, the insect community composition in different habitats, different seasons, the habitat of insect Communities seasonal dynamics.According to the survey area vegetation types in the survey area to select plots4, respectively grassland2, farmland2. Community structure of the other four habitats of insects have significant differences. The performance of the most complex structure of insect communities in farmland, insect community structure is relatively simple in grassland.Significant difference existed in the activity rhythm of insects in different habitats. The activity rhythm of insects in the grassland showed bimodal distribution and quantitative climaxes existed in the morning and evening.
