A Study Of Media Justice

As a basic value idea and the ideal pursue of human society, justice has alwaysbeen the goal of people. Since the birth of media, it has close relationship with justice.As a force that cannot be neglected, media justice also promotes and safeguards socialfairness and justice. It institutionally regulates and legitimately evaluates the operationof news organizations and reporting staffs. Under the general meaning of justice,media justice highlights the feature that combines the practical rational spirit of justiceand the special field of media. Media justice requires media in the operation processand the results should reflect the spirit of justice. So when we explore media justice,we should include three factors: idea, system and practice, namely the principle ofmedia justice, media system justice and media practice justice.The principle of media justice focuses on two parts content: First of all, therelationship between media justice, media freedom and media order; Second, thedistribution principle of media justice. Justice, freedom and order are the basic valueconcepts of the Media communication. Media freedom and media order arecontradictory. But it means that no one can exist independence from the other party.The two sides are both opposite and unified relationship. The existence of one partymust be based on the existence of the other party. It is not absolute that mediafreedom and order which has the priority on the value. It is determined by the realsituation. We shall maintain a reasonable tension between media freedom and mediaorder that be based on the reality of media. Media justice is this tension. By mediajustice, we can realize dynamic balance between media freedom and media order.Thus we can achieve harmonious state of communication. In order to realize mediajustice, an important problem that we must first solve is the problem of distributivejustice. Among them, the distribution principle of media justice is the core of theproblem. This study argues that the media products and services should be allocatedaccording to the basic need of people.Media system is a series of rules, implementation and enforcement of these ruleswhen the media runs. It is used to regulate and constraint various behaviors andrelationship between the media organizations and other social organizations, media organizations and media organizations, media organizations. In this study, mediasystem of justice can be divided into the justice of media system itself and the mediasystem operation of justice. The justice of media system itself involves to the legalityof the media system, namely the foundation and source of the effectiveness of thesystem. The media system operation of justice is the rationality of the system. Whenwe design media system design, we need the concept of justice as a support. When themedia system runs, it needs to reflect the concept of justice. So the rationality of themedia system means if the form is in line with the content. If the justice of mediasystem itself is a kind of substantial justice, then, the media system operation ofjustice is a form of formal justice. The former instructs the latter, it determines thelatter development direction and properties. But the media system operation of justiceis also indispensable. Its importance is instrumental. It directly affects the level ofmedia system of justice and efficiency of implementation. The justice of mediasystem itself takes precedence over the media system operation of justice, and theformer is more important than the latter.Media system is not rigid, unchangeable. As the change of media communicationof reality, media system must make corresponding adjustment, whether thisadjustment is fundamental or local. Here involves the issue of media system change.This change does not necessarily reflect the media system of the original justice. Atthe same time, the media system is a kind of public goods. Free-riding and the tragedyof the Commons don’t reflect the media system of justice. They can not only eliminatethe need for the media system innovation power, and may endanger the entire mediaindustry. So, replace the collective excitation with selective incentives, clear theproperty rights of public goods, are the ways to solve the media system of justice.In this study, media practice refers to news reports. The connotation of the mediapractice of justice includes the following three aspects. The media practice of justicemeans that the media should have the spirit of justice in the communication ofactivities. The media practice of justice means that the media should have justreported in the communication of activities. The media practice of justice means thatthe media wants to realize social justice. Media communication runs under thebackground of a certain political and economic system. Media system means thesocial system regulates and controls the media communication. The media practice ofjustice in different media system shows different content. So the media practice of justice has four media theory basis: authoritarian theory, libertarian theory, socialresponsibility theory, Soviet Communist theory. At the same time, journalists oftenface ethical dilemmas when they do news reports. They should make ethical decisionsat work every day. Since ancient Greece, philosophers have summarized a variety ofprinciples to guide ethical choices: the golden mean in Aristotle, Kant’s absolute order,Rawls’s veil of ignorance, Mill’s utilitarianism and the principles of Christian love.They become the ethical basis of the media practice of justice. Under the guidance ofthese theories, the media practice of justice also must have a way to realize justice:diversity is the foundation, the objectivity of the report way is the guarantee, and theresult of justice is the goal. In the process, journalists cannot ignore and are difficult tograsp the problem: the relationship between right and good. Chinese and westernnews organizations are not the same when they deal with this problem.
