Ancient Punctuation Research

Besides “Introduction” and “conclusion”, this dissertation is divided into twoparts, each part with three chapters.“Introduction” is composed of four sections: discussed respectively about thesignificance of the selected topic, the way of thinking and methods of the research ofthis dissertation, mainly describe the research situation, previously visualized theframework and content of this dissertation, and the last, explain the reasons of thechoice of “the History of the Three Kingdoms” and "the Variorum of the History ofthe Three Kingdoms" as the main source of the examples of incorrect punctuation.“Shallow Discussion about the function of the Collating in the Form ofPunctuation on Ancient Books”, the first part of this dissertation, mainly examine therelationship between the collation of punctuation on ancient books and the specificresearch work on ancient literature and the cultivation and improving of the researchability in related fields, the purpose is to attempt to reveal some values of thepunctuation on ancient books.“A Simple Discussion about Collation of Punctuation on ancient books”, is thefirst chapter of this part, mainly discuss the purpose and significance of collation ofpunctuation on ancient books, and the required methods.“Collation of Punctuation on Ancient Books and the Study of Ancient literature”,is the second chapter of this part, discuss the values of collation of punctuation onancient books used in the specific research on ancient documents, such as thevocabulary study, the modern translation, and the compilation of dictionary and index.“The Collation of Punctuation on Ancient Books and the Cultivation andImproving of the Research Ability”, is the third chapter of this part, try to discussesthe practical significance of the punctuation reading method for the contemporaryrelated disciplines researchers. That is, by applying the method of collation ofpunctuation on ancient books consciously in the process of detailed study of ancientbooks, can improve abilities in four aspects in different degrees: intensive reading inancient books, discovering and solving problems, and knowledge development ability.“The Three Scattered Articles about The Punctuation on Ancient Books”, is thenext part of this dissertation. Firstly, make a further discussion on several specificusage of punctuation on ancient books. Secondly, try to discuss the influence of punctuation on ancient books for reading activities of ancient book. Finally, try to putforward my own views on the problems related to “the subject of punctuation onancient books”.“The Purpose and Specific Usage of Punctuation on Ancient Books”, is the firstchapter of this part. On the one hand, make the further discussion on the purpose ofpunctuation on ancient books. On the other hand, make a detailed discussion on theproblems about the usage of some punctuations in the process of punctuation onancient books, such as: comma, question mark, etc.“Punctuation on Ancient Books and Reading Activity of Ancient Books”, thesecond chapter of this part, discuss the impact of punctuation on ancient books on thetwo aspects of specific reading activities of ancient books: the reasonable logicjudgment, and accepting of the knowledge of ancient history and culture.“Trying to Discuss on the Establishment of the Subject of Punctuation onAncient Books”, the third chapter of this part, on the basis of discussing on the uniquevalue of punctuation on ancient books, describe the concept of the subject ofpunctuation on ancient books, and discuss the difference between the subject and theexegetical studies and textualism.Finally, also try to make the description on theresearch purpose, content, method and significance of the subject of punctuation onancient books.The last part is the conclusion of this paper, according to the previous two partssix chapters, this part has made the six points of corresponding induction.
