The Transformation And Guardian-Study On "The Whole History Of Traditional Chinese Painting" Of Wuchang Zheng

The paper was focused on the overall study of the whole Chinese painting history ofWuchang Zheng and the writing of the painting history in Republican period. By combingthe transition and art history writing, as well as the comparison of painting style and methodsin ancient and modern period, more fit ideas written on the history of painting can be gained.It was found that Chinese painting had its own independent and natural changes, which wasthe meaning and value of the Chinese painting history. The greatest contribution of WuchangZheng historical research was his unremitting traditional academic road to preserve thetraditional culture values and find a breakthrough of the scholarship promotion. Based on theChinese painting itself, a clear and distinct study were conducted.Its contents was depictedby pieces, chapters and sections, which was different from chronicle,biography and notepadin ancient time.The writhing of the whole history of traditional Chinese painting fitted therequirements of the modern codification of the new history and reflected its adherence toacademic thought of traditional Chinese painting history. The evolution of the paintinghistory and painting form in the book were elaborated under Chinese cultural environmentthorough the painter’s years of practical experience and painting accomplishment.In addition, the problem about the Chinese painting history, such as the four stages,historical use and general history style analysis,was analysied in the book on the basis oftoday’s context. The purpose of the book was to understand the Chinese art history writingmode and to find out the value and limitations of the work in the modern Chinese historypainting. The features of painting history writing in Republican period (1912-1949) could bespoken out by in-depth analysis of the whole history of traditional Chinese painting,hoping tobe helpful to the Chinese painting history research.
