Research On The Treating Methods Of School Of Lemology(SL)

This dissertation is to discuss the development, the treating characteristics and its influence on later generation of School of Lemology (SL) on the basis of the study and research on relative literature and documents. Based on the clue of the following main treating system: relieving Moyuan, cooling heat, nourishing Yin, etc, this paper is to compare this treating system of SL with its related theories in order to find out its treating characteristics and reasonable theories.SL makes itself distinctive for several mains reasons. First of all, SL disagrees with the theory of "Six Evils", and instead, advocates the theory of miscellaneous QI, and epidemic pathogenic factor. Secondly, doctors form SL emphasizes on the differentiation of interior and exterior, chills and fever. Thirdly, from the process of disease preventing, SL introduces some peculiar methods, such as scraping , bloodletting.Statistical research on the medication features shows that there are 689 formulas, 415 sorts of herbs, in which heat-clearing drugs are the mostly used, followed by deficiency-reinforcing ones and drugs for relieving exterior syndrome. These three sorts of drugs make up 55.97%. And from the frequency for use of about 20 herbs, eliminating pathogen drugs make the most important. From the meridian distribution of all these drugs, they play the chief role in lung-stomach meridian, liver-kidney meridian, and heart-spleen meridian.From the statistical analysis of drugs, eliminating pathogen is the main purpose of SL. Eliminating heat, relieving superficies, dissipating phlegm, promoting blood flow, etc. are the general methods in eliminating pathogen, which embodies the treating idea of regarding expelling evil as the essential pointThrough the theoretical and statistical research on the treating methods of SL, the fundamental method to the preventing and treating diseases lies in eliminating pathogen and strengthening body resistance; and the basic approach to the dealing with acute epidemic infection lies in the preventing and treating.
