| This study was according to theory of Huangdi Neijing and Jingui Yaolue that causethe main reason of type 2 diabetes mellitus (type 2 DM) was on spleen and stomachfunctions. The spleen and stomach functions control key lies in liver controllingconveyance and dispersion. This study was basis of Baihu-Ginseng tang and combine theconcept of Suwen "Taiyin is opened, Jueyin is closed, Shaoyin is pivoted". Then, thatselected Sini San of dispering stagnated liver qi for regulating spleen and stomach,operating Shaoyin pivoted formula to treat diabetes and observed the reduced blood sugarefficiency. They were 47 pateints (21 male, 26 female) and average age 54.6±11.1 yearsold. We observed fasting blood sugar (FBS) and HbAlc values when patients took Chinesemedicine for 4,12 and 24 weeks.The results showed GPT and Creatinine were normal, FBS and HbAlc were trendingdown. FBS and HbAlc values had significantly decreased at 4th weeks (p＜0.05). Mostpatient’s FBS values dropped between≥10% to＜30% and had best effect at 12th weeks. Atthe same time, 79% patient’s HbAlc was decreased. Sex and diseases had not significantlyFBS and HbAlc decreased values. Treatment effect of female was best, age＜55 years oldwas better than≥55 years old. Only suffer from type 2 DM was better than type 2 DM with hypertension. FBS and HbAlc values of＜55 years old patients had significantlydecreased (p＜0.05) and greater than 50% patients were effective.The result showed the blood sugar can tend to stable until more than 12 weeks aftertaking medicine. Age will effect treatment, elder patients had worse curative effect.Metabolic syndrome were insulin resisitance disease, when merged other diseases hadworse effective. In the future, the probability suffers from cardiovascular disease andcomplication were higher. After Chinese medicine treatment, the side effect was fewer thanoral antiglucose drugs. Therefore, Chinese medicine treatment can achieve protectβ-cellfunction, slow down diabetes development and stable diease condition. |
