Purpose:This study collected the relevant data of 200 cases of elderly diabetes, carries on the system analysis and sorting, so as to explore the understanding, on the elderly diabetes of TCM syndrome type characteristic, treatment based on syndrome differentiation and medication rule. And the results guide clinical treatment of traditional Chinese medicine to improve the curative effect of the senile diabetes, lay the foundation for the further development of traditional Chinese medicine in treating senile diabetic theory for the future clinical and research provide reference. Methods:To collect the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (Jiangsu Province Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital) outpatient department of endocrinology of senile diabetes mellitus cases 200 cases, the patients enrolled were sequentially input basic data of patients with (name, gender, age, medical history) (general medical history, tongue, pulse, diagnosis, prescription drugs) and the related indexes (fasting blood glucose, postprandial 2 hour blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, serum total cholesterol, glycerin three greases, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol uric acid, urea, creatinine, urinary albumin), statistics and induction, statistics recorded in elderly diabetic syndrome differentiation typing, drug classification, flavor, channel tropism and statistics, the number of drugs frequency (%), but also for the statistics and analysis of different syndrome types of commonly used drugs and drug use characteristics. Results:The gender composition:200 patients met the inclusion criteria of patients, there were 109 males (54.5%),91 cases were female (45.5%), the male to female ratio is about 1.2: 1. The age composition:200 cases of the patients enrolled in the study, the minimum age is 61 years old, the oldest was 88 years old, mean age 73.28+7.10 years. The 61-70 years old 73, 71-80 year old 67,81-88 year old 60. The cases were distributed:200 patients met the inclusion criteria of patients, the shortest course was 1 months, the longest 42 years. All patients according to disease duration take time into 0-5; 6-10 years 11-20 years; 21 years; four stage. The TCM syndrome type distribution:in the 200 cases of the patients included in the study, the differentiation of symptoms and signs, the yin deficiency and heat syndrome in 17 cases (8.5%), damp spleen syndrome in 19 cases(9.5%),86 cases(43%)with Qi and yin deficiency, yin and yang deficiency and blood stasis syndrome water stop two,23 cases (11.5%) blood stasis,55 cases (27.5%). Use of the drug:in the 200 cases of included studies, used a total of 126 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine, the total frequency of drug appear up to 2624 times. Average every drug use frequency for 20.83 times. Rehmannia root. Astragalus and Salvia miltiorrhiza is three kinds of drug use the most times, the frequency of use and frequency were 92 times (46%),91 (45.5%) and 88 (44%). Classification analysis using the drug to use: 126 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine is divided into 12 categories. According to the use frequency and frequency of drugs on these 12 types of drugs for analysis, according to the level of the order for the tonic(848,32.30%), promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis (568,21.63%), heat clearing drugs (185,7.05%), and Qi regulating drugs (162,6.16%), diuresis medicine (140,5.32%), warm in medicine (136,5.17%), aromatic plant (89, 3.41%), expectorants (83,3.17%), Pinggan Xifeng drugs (79,3.02%), sedative drugs (47,1.81%), diarrhea medicine (45,1.73%), other kinds of drugs (242,9.23%) Analysis of the drug use and type of syndrome of deficiency of both qi and Yin:drug by using the most total number of uses,42.23%, blood stasis subordination, accounted for 28.24%, two Yin and yang deficiency, blood stasis and water stagnation accounted for 14.41%. The tonic medicine, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis occupies very high in the card of all rate. Conclusion:From the preliminary clinical research, the relationship between gender and senile diabetes from occurring, and the relationship between gender and diabetic syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine point of view, there are not special rules. The relationship between age and senile diabetes Ⅱ from the TCM syndrome, yin deficiency and heat syndrome of dampness heat and spleen syndrome with age no significant increased number of cases of deficiency of Qi and Yin Syndrome with age, with the number of cases of a downward trend, while the Yin and yang two empty, blood stasis and water stagnation and blood stasis are increasing. More elderly patients, more virtual, yin and Yang and blood stasis two choroid trend. The short duration in Yin deficiency and heat syndrome, damp spleen syndrome mostly, the duration of the elderly with Qi and yin deficiency, yin and yang deficiency of two two, blood stasis and water stagnation, blood stasis are increasing, along with the course, characteristics of the pathogenesis of partial deficiency, stasis increase. The elderly diabetes more deficiency, blood stasis, deficiency of both spleen and kidney as the book, blood stasis as the standard, deficiency and stasis is the important pathological factors in elderly diabetes pathogenesis, meets professor Wang Xu "the elderly diabetes pathogenesis characteristic but deficiency, blood stasis ends" of the academic point of view. The results of this study show, Professor Wang Xu in the treatment of invigorating the spleen and kidney, promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis method in treating senile diabetes. This study shows that, the technology of data mining can be used to verify the Chinese medicine prescription medication experience and find the hidden rules, the mining result is worthy of reference.
