Objectives:To study the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medicine to cure Tourette Syndrome using Evidence-Based Medicine Method(system assessment and Meta-analysis method)in order to provide Evidence-based medical proof for the treatment of(traditional Chinese medicine);using relative data mining technique of“Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System(V2.5)” to conduct data mining for basic prescription of TCM to cure Tourette Syndrome and further explore the rule of the medicine. Methods:The author searches clinical randomized controlled trials for curing Tourette Syndrome with TCM or TCM combined with western medicine through seven databases such as CNKI,Wan Fang,Wei Pu,Chinese Biomedical Literature,Pubmed,Embase and Cochrane Library using such key words as “Tourette Syndrome”,“Medicine”,“Traditional Chinese Medicine”,“Tourette Syndrome”,“tic disorders”,“Chinese medicine”,and “Chinese herb” etc in English and Chinese. Two researchers respectively conduct thesis assessment, data extraction and methodological value evaluation according to the regulated method of exclusion and inclusion method and conduct Meta analyses with Rev Man 5.3 software provided by Cochrane collaboration network. And two researchers conduct corresponding data mining for relative basic prescription of Traditional Chinese Medicine input into“Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System(V2.5)”.Results:1 Meta-Analysis shows that traditional Chinese medicine can increase YGTSS grade efficiency of Twitch symptoms for children patients [OR=3.32,95% CI(2.45,4.50),P<0.01] obviously and heterogeneity is low in combined studies(I2=40%).The research shows that more obvious YGTSS grade efficiency can be obtained when traditional Chinese medicine is combined with haloperidol [OR=5.19,95%CI(3.13,8.63),P<0.01] and heterogeneity does not exist among studies. The research also shows that traditional Chinese medicine can decrease patients' traditional Chinese medicine syndrome integral obviously [SMD=-0.83,95%CI(-1.06,-0.60),P<0.01]and heterogeneity is relatively high(I2=66%).The research shows that efficacy of TCM Syndrome is higher,it has statistical significance [OR=1.96,95%CI(1.47,2.60),P<0.01] and good homogeneity among studies(I2=0%).At the same time the research shows that traditional Chinese medicine can decrease recurrence rate of this disease greatly [OR=0.25,95%CI(0.15,0.41),P<0.01],and heterogeneity is lower(I2=27%).Finally the research shows that traditional Chinese medicine can decrease the occurrence of untoward effect [OR=0.16,95%(0.12,0.21),P<0.01],and heterogeneity is lower(I2=14%).2 Data mining shows that the basic prescription of curing Tourette Syndrome includes liver amiable medicine, worm medicine as well as the medicine of invigorating spleen to remove phlegm. The medicine mainly runs through liver channel.Radix paeoniae alba, uncaria,Poria cocos, stiff silkworm, rhizoma acori graminei, gastrodia elata, scorpio, cicada slough and Pinellia ternate are often used medicines for curing this disease. And Radix paeoniae alba and uncaria are core medication which are used more often.Conclusion:1 It is beneficial to have superior YGTSS grade efficiency and Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndromes Efficacy and lower Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndromes integral recurrence rate to use traditional Chinese medicine or combine TCM with western medicine to cure Tourette Syndrome compared to Haloperidol and Tiapride. For safety of medicine, the untoward effect occurrence rate of traditional Chinese medicine is obviously lower than western medicine group of Haloperidol and Tiapride etc.It can be further popularized clinically to cure Tourette Syndrome using TCM.2 Use “Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System(V2.5)” to conduct statistics and amylases on medicine rule of compound medicine for curing Tourette Syndrome. The basic prescription of curing Tourette Syndrome mainly has characteristics of emolliating liver, nourishing liver and relieving dizziness. It has good effectiveness to use the methods of decreasing liver wind, improving appetite and spleen and removing phlegm to cure Tourette Syndrome.
