Objective: To study on the factors correlative with Yin and Yang jaundice syndromein neonates and to construct the Bayes probability model for Yin and Yang jaundicesyndrome. Method:107cases of neonates within10days after birth with neonataljaundice were divided into two groups according to traditional syndrome differentiationmethods,68cases in Yang jaundice syndrome group and39cases in Yin jaundicesyndrome group. The data collected for neonates was age, sex, gestational age, birth weight, occurrence time of jaundice, mood of delivery and feeding, et al. The age of mothers andtheir diet, living condition, emotion during pregnancy, also complication and companyingdiseases of mothers in gestation were also recorded. Blood routine and hepatic function, also kidney function and cardiac enzymes were tested for every neonate. The data wasanalyzed by SPSS17.0statistic software. Logistic analysis and Bayes discriminantanalysis was used for the multiple factors which had statistical significance. Finally, Bayesdiscriminant functions was set for Yin and Yang jaundice syndrome. Results: Of all thefactors investigated, some of them in Yin jaundice syndrome group are different from thatin Yang jaundice syndrome group. In factors before birth, mothers’ age, rates of eating coolfood and mother with gestational diabetes mellitus are higher in yin jaundice group;otherwise, the ratio of high protein diet is higher in Yang jaundice syndrome. In fatorsduring birth, the rate of prolonged second delivery course and occurrence of Aparg value≤7in1minutes are higher in Yin jaundice syndrome group; Low gestational age, low birthweight, premature neonates and those with polycythemia or who were born in winter canpromote the occurrence of yin juandice, but ABO hemolytic diseases has the different effect. Serum DBIL, GGT, ALP, CHE, ADA levels and some RBC and platelet index suchas HCT, MCV, RDW-SD, P-LCR, are also different in the two groups. The difference wasstatistically significant (all P<0.05). Logistic analysis and Bayes discriminant analysis wereused to screen the important index. Bayes discriminant function was set for Yin and Yangjaundice syndrome according to the classification function coefficients. Yang jaundicesyndrome: y1=-21.701+2.589×mother’s age+1.037×GDM-17.175×asphyxia+13.876×gestational age+6.303×ABO+2.116×RDW+0.831×DBIL+0.012×ALP+1.697×LCR+0.001×CHE;Yin jaundice syndrome: y2=-33.511+2.991×mother’s age+3.960×GDM-12.877×asphyxia+11.848×gestational age+1.820×ABO+2.231×RDW+0.999×DBIL+0.023×ALP+1.916×LCR+0.002×CHE。(Wilks’ λ=0.393,P=0.000). Conclusion: There are factors correlative with Yin and Yang jaundice syndromein neonates, including maternal factors, neonatal factors and some laboratory test index.Yin jaundice syndrome has some different objective index from Yang jaundice syndrome.Yin and Yang jaundice syndrome in neonates can be classified by Bayesian discriminantfunctions.
