Objective:To establish the chemical fingerprints and biological fingerprints on TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS of which is authentic medicine in Shandong Province, and study the complex relationships between chemical fingerprints and biological fingerprints to preliminary investigate the relationships between biological genetic materials and chemical compositions, then gradually built the mathematical model of identification and evaluation in fingerprint of multi-dimensional and multi-data on TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS to offer more accurate and effective method and basis for the identification and quality evaluation on TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS.Methods:Established the fingerprints of multi-dimensional and multi-data on TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS by High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), infrared spectroscopy (IR), ultraviolet spectroscopy (UV), random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD), polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) and other technology. Used partial least squares (PLS) to analyze the correlation of biological and chemical fingerprint and establish the mathematical model associated with its quality.Results:Established the HPLC fingerprint of TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS, and analyzed different samples of TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS in Shandong Province, the results showed that different leaves and fruits of TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS in the same planting base area had different HPLC fingerprints. However, there were no differences in IR and UV results. The results of RAPD and protein electrophoresis showed that all samples of TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS could be obtained many bands in common, and which indicated that they had similar genetic material, but some were stronger or weaker, with or without bands had specificity in different samples. It indicated that TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS which produced in Shandong Province had abundant genetic diversity. The data of protein fingerprint and HPLC fingerprint are represented, and using partial least squares (PLS) to analyze the correlation of biological and chemical fingerprint of TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS. We initially established the mathematical model associated with its quality.Conclusion:The thesis has preliminary established the fingerprint of multi-dimensional and multi-data on TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS and the mathematical model interrelated to its quality; created a new system of identification and quality evaluation in Chinese medicine to offer a more accurate and effective way for the identification and quality evaluation on TRICHOSANTHIS FRUCTUS.
