The Research On Interior Design Of Modern Shanghai Under The Background Of Western Cultur Influencing On The East

The interior design is a reflection for society, politics, economy, culture, and people’s lives. It is also a record of the evolution of urban civilization. The Modern Shanghai is a key of China, the professional interior design of China started here obviously. The research on Modern Shanghai interior design will be helpful for us to know the main features of Modern China professional interior design in the initial stage. This paper discusses the main trend and historical facts of the development on Modern Shanghai interior design by case study and characteristics summary. In this study, the author have paid more attention to the using of historical pictures, and combines with the field research, tried to reveal the cultural characteristics of Modern Shanghai interior design and its contributions to the development of Chinese interior design.This paper contains four parts:Part 1 is the introduction. It’s mainly on research methods, research subjects, and related research results.Part 2 is the Chapter I and the Chapter II. The Chapter I analyzes the relationship between the interior design and the historical factors in four areas: urban, culture, ideas and technology. The Chapter is case study. Through this part of study, we could clarify the different stages in Modern Shanghai interior design features and outstanding feature in different case.Part 3 is the Chapter III and the Chapter IV. This part is the main part of this paper. Chapter III is a description about the interior space design of the Modern Shanghai buildings. This chapter discusses the characteristics of interior space from the living culture and social values changes. Chapter IV is the core part of this paper. It’s an in-depth study for Modern Shanghai interior design styles. In this part, the author noted that Modern Shanghai interior decoration could be divided into three main styles: the Traditional Chinese Style, the Western Retro Style, and the Modern Style. Base on the special culture background, Modern Shanghai gradually gave rise to a very regional characteristic interior decoration style which named Haipai Style. In addition, the chapter discusses the origins and characteristics of various styles, and also summarizes these styles characteristics in Shanghai in the process of localization. Through this part of in-depth study, we could know the Modern Shanghai interior design overall features and the characteristics of the times.Part 4 is the Chapter V, the Chapter VI, and the Conclusion. Base on the study, the Chapter V summarizes the diversity, creativity, sensitivity, complexity is the four main features of Shanghai Modern interior design, and the author noted that the interior design towards modernization direction in Modern Shanghai. Then, the Chapter VI focuses on the modernization process of Modern Shanghai interior design, and discussed mainly from two aspects: scientific management and professionalization. The author pointed out that interior design became a professional design art in Modern Shanghai, and this is an important historical significance to the history of Chinese interior design. The last part is the conclusion for this paper.
