Spatial Development Mechanism And Regulatory Strategies Construction Of The Aerotropolis

Currently, under the interaction of the accumulation and diffusion mechanism, the portal aviation hub triggered Aerotropolis, a new form of urban space, and has become a key element in promoting regional and national participation in international competition in the context of economic globalization. In the 21 st century, China’s total air passenger and cargo transports are growing by the rate of respectively 12.17% and 13.8%, which provide the necessary conditions and initial momentum for the development of domestic airports.Facing with the current strategic opportunities, how to guide the construction of Aerotropolis scientifically and reasonably becomes the key factor of ensuring Aerotropolis playing economic growth pole and enhancing the international competitiveness and global st rategic position of the city. This thesis uses "agency- structure" theory to analyze spatial growth characteristics and rules of Aerotropolis, finds that the main reason of Aerotropolis space growth attributed to human behavior and activities. Furthermore, the spatial development mechanism of Aerotropolis is regarded as the social interaction process based on the interrelation of all kinds of actors and their behavioral choices. Then the scientific method of spatial growth is explored by the use of integrated qualitative and quantitative research method.The thesis firstly summarizes the experience of the foreign Aerotropolis construction and points out the plight of the current domestic airport construction and development. Secondly, theories of growth of Aerotropolis are analyzed and studies "agency- structure" theory with logical progression and disabuses the exploration of the methodology, which are the main and core content of this study.The explanatory research based on "agency- structure" theory contents the growth characteristics and rules of Aerotropolis and the internal spatial growth mechanism. First of all, this thesis argues that the spatial growth of Aerotropolis can be summarized as the evolution and combination of the static spatial pattern and dynamic spatial pattern of Aerotropolis. In the static spatial pattern, there are three types of Aerotropolis locations, which are borderline, suburban, exurban agglomeration. They contain a two-way interactive spatial association between internal groups and between the City, and the form of the spatial organization shows the significant circle structure characteristics. While the dynamic spatial evolution pattern follows three forms which are the axial extension, circle expansion and network expansion, and can be achieved by relying on the airport’s own shipping facilities, roads and communications infrastructure, optimizing set organization and distribution system, the industrial structure upgrading and nurturing clusters, ecological resources development and use. The interconnection of the static and dynamic spatial growth pattern of Aerotropolis can be the ideal spider-type space mode that can be divided into different types of continuous belt, organizing tandem, constellation type and radiation type. Additionally, the thesis explore the internal spatial growth mechanism of Aerotropolis from the space growth effects by the microscopic spatial behavior in order to explain the spatial growth characteristics and rules of Aerotropolis at the theoretical level. This article defines the micro-agent of Aerotropolis as three types that is market subject, social subject and governmental subject, and selects corporations, residents and the government to simplify the constitution of the subject. Then the positive space with interaction of behaviors is analyzed to discuss spatial effects of the subject behavior.The “disabusing” exploration of methodology includes the study and application of the space regulation strategies and methods for Aerotropolis. In space regulation strategies method, the pursuing game value orientation of the balance and cooperation is cleared in the development of Aerotropolis, and the paradigm framework of space regulation strategies is built from "cognition, coordination and action". Furthermore, the grounded theory in qualitative research and ANP in quantitative research are integrated to study the space regulation strategies based on the discussion of the limitations in the traditional space regulation strategies and methods. In the method application, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport is selected as verify object. Programmed operation conformed to the space regulation strategies and methods for Aerotropolis is needed on the base of the analysis of spatial development history and current characteristics. Finally, the theoretical spatial growth model of Aerotropolis, the weights of spatial growth factors in different circles and the trend judgment, the strategic actions of spatial regulation are put forward in different period.
