This paper analysis the development status of the personal protective equipment at home and abroad,according to three links including escape from catastrophe, the escape and hedging, hedging and awaitingrescue, three-grade life-support system concept for coal mine emergency escape was proposed.Based on human respiratory physiological parameters and dissipation heat, mathematical relationshipamong the Chinese persons’ oxygen consumption, carbon dioxide exhaled amount, and the total workamount and so on, was summed up through on numerical analysis, experimental study and on site actualmeasurement data. Thus, it provide the theoretical basis for researching on the three–grade life-supportequipments witch are consist of self rescuer, transition station and refuge chamber.The first-grade escape equipment–compressed oxygen self rescuers with big power and low airwayresistance, the second grade relaying escape and hedging equipment–transition station and refuge chamber;and the third grade hedging and awaiting rescue equipment–permanent refuge chamber and relevantsupporting monitoring and surveillance system was developed systematically. Among them, the supplyingvalve and large capacity intrinsically safe power supply has its originality.
