Lecideaceae is classified into Lecideales under Lecanoromycetidae,Lecanoromycetes, Ascomycota. Most of the species within this family belong tocrustose lichens. As a very valuable lichenized fungi group, it distributes all over theworld. The more than1300specimens of Lecideaceae which were collected from28provinces and autonomous regions in China are now conserved in Lichen section ofHerbarium of Mycology, Academia Sinica (HMAS-L), Herbarium of Cryptogams,Kunming Institute of Botany, Academia Sinica (KUN), Field Museum of NaturalHistory (F) and Lichen Section of Botanical Herbarium, Shandong Normal University(SDNU). The research of Lecideaceae from China is implemented by using themorphological, anatomical, chemical, ecological and molecular methods.53taxabelong to10genera are reported in this thesis,2of them are new to science: Poeltiariacineraceus and Porpidia hypostictica;16of them are new to China:Amygdalaria consentiens, Bryobilimbia ahlesii, B. sanguineoatra, Clauzadeamonticola, Farnoldia micropsis, Immersaria iranica, I.usbekica, Lecidea andersonii,L. atrobrunnea ssp. stictica, L. atrobrunnea ssp. saxosa, L. auriculata var.brachyospora, L. grisella, L. laboriosa, L. promixta, L. tessellata var. caesia, Porpidiagrisea and P. zeoroides. In addition, the genera Bryobilimbia, Clauzadea, Farnoldiaand Poeltiaria are new records for China.Species composition and local distribution of the Lecideaeae from China arereported for the first time. All the53taxa reported in this thesis is detailed frommorphological, anatomical, chemical, environmental and distributional respects, andeach of the species is discussed with its similar species. Key to genera and keys tospecies of Amygdalaria, Immersaria, Porpidia and Lecidea from China are presentedin this thesis.11secondary metabolites are examined by color reaction test (CT) andThin-Layer Chromatography (TLC),all of the secondary metabolites belong todepsides, depsidones and dibenzofurans. This study uses the nrDNA ITS sequences to clarify the interspecificrelationships within Lecidea, Porpidia and Immersaria for the first time, and we drawa conclusion that the morphological, anatomical, chemical methods that we use toidentify the species in Lecideaceae are consistent with molecular database. ThenrDNA ITS sequences of two new species and some other species from Lecidea,Porpidia and Immersaria in China are also provided. This study has a significant effect on the method of describing the lichencharacteristics. The morphological, anatomical and chemial photoes of all the taxapresented in this thesis are provided. This thesis not only enriches the distribution dataof the lichen Lecideaceae in China but also provides basic data for Lichen VirtualHerbarium.
