Research On Layout Of Retail Trade State Of Resources Cities

Academically speaking, the sustainable development of resources-based cities and study of the configuration of retailing trade have long been the problems, which are studied, respectively in two independent realms. This thesis aims to integrate these two separate problems systematically, to conduct research on the configuration of retailing trade in resources-based cities from an original perspective, and to set up a theoretical framework to be applied in the empirical studies of the typical domestic resources-based cities like Daqing City. The findings of the research demonstrate that the theoretical framework is feasible and instructive in the programming of the configuration of retailing trade in resources-based cities.The paper has carried on a thorough and in-depth research and analyses of the correlation between the four major independent variables and the configuration of retailing trade. The first one is the general development rules of resources-based cities, which may restrict the configuration of retailing trade of the concerned city. The second one is the inherent development rules of the retailing trade, which may affect the layout of the trade itself. The third one is the construction of the infrastructure in a resources-based city, which may influence the configuration of the trade. The fourth one is the characteristic of the consumers, which may have impact on the retailing sector. By means of the multidimensional digression analysis of these four independent variables, the paper has established two sets of models of the retailing trade which may satisfy the need of all the requests of the trade and be adopted to the development of the city.In regard to the present problems Daqing currently has had such as the inept development of the replacement industry during the process of the exploitation of oil resources and the irrational development of the retailing trade etc., the paper indicates that it is preferable for the downtown and suburban areas of Daqing City to choose shopping malls and convenience stores as its privileged modes of retailing. This is because shopping malls may enable the district commercial centers to attract more customers and strengthen the influence of those centers. Such modes may help to adjust the trade to the tendency of Daqing's,transformation from a resources-based city to a regional central city and lead the movement of residents and logistics to a reasonable way. As to the suburban areas, convenience stores can take up the responsibility of both meeting the basic needs of living and effectively reducing the compensation costs at the time of resources exhaustion. According to the findings of the research, the paper concludes that the most rational configuration of the retailing trade in Daqing City is to control the excessive competition of the retailing outlets in east town, to promote and improve the scale and functions of the retailing outlets in west town, which enjoys the strongest economic power, and to encourage the transformation and renewal of the old small-scaled retailing network so that they can be more risk-resistant and collective.At last, the thesis adopts the large-scaled retailing network model and the multidimensional expert decision-making systems to the descriptive statistic analysis of the scale and privileged order of developing the two trade models: shopping malls and convenience stores. The statistical results soundly prove the hypothesis.The originality of the dissertation is that the paper chose the sustainable development of resources-based cities and the configuration of the retailing trade there as the subject of the research and put forward a creative perspective as to how to promote the development of the service industry during the transformation of resource-based cities through the orderly development and rational configuration of the retailing trade. The research shows that such models may help to lead the movement of population and logistics to a reasonable way.The research done has set up a complete research system of the configuration of the retailing trade of resources-based cities and explored an effective way to conduct such kind of research. The findings are also instructive and helpful to the programming of the configuration of the retailing trade of other domestic resources-based cities and even the programming of a certain sector of the third industry of those resources-based cities.
