Manager's emotional intelligence is the ability of understanding and reining emotion and its relative psychology and behaviors that managers display in the process of work and intercourse.According to the former definition, based on the existing researches about emotional intelligence, we survey employees and managers in Chinese culture background and obtain 629 effective questionnaires. Then, we explore the factor construct of manager's emotional intelligence by exploratory factor analysis (EFA) with 310 questionnaires and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with 319 questionnaires. The result shows that the construct of Chinese manager's emotional intelligence is four factors, including dealing with relationship, emotionally working competence, interpersonal sensitivity, and emotion regulating. Furthermore, the four factors can be clustered two areas which are the work-area composed of dealing with relationship and emotionally working competence, and the self-area composed of interpersonal sensitivity and emotion regulating. Based on upper research results, we develop a manager's emotional intelligence scale. We find the scale has good reliability and validity by initial testing. We do another survey with the developed manager's emotional intelligence scale, leadership behavior scale, management self-efficacy scale, job satisfactory scale, job frustration scale, emotion management scale and job performance scale. In this time we ask respondents who are all managers to self-report themselves' relative behavior characters and obtain 320 effective questionnaires. In addition, we also ask 65 of 320 managers whose subordinators, coordinators, and supervisors to report responding manager's relative behavior characters, and altogether obtain 825 effective other-report questionnaires. Based on the data collecting from self-report questionnaires, we do correlation analysis, regression analysis and SEM analysis and further test the validity of the developed manager's emotional intelligence scale. The result shows the scale has good construct validity, criterion-relative validity, convergent validity, incremental validity, and predictive validity. Based on the data collecting from self and other-report questionnaires, we do one-way ANOVA analysis, regression analysis and SEM analysis and test all research hypotheses. The next hypotheses are supported:...
