On Theoretical Approaches Of Land Use Planning Of The County Level Based On GIS

Land use planning had been paid highly attention and studied largely by all the countries, as well as all kinds of organizations including FAO for a long term. However, land use planning had still been difficult to bring into full play in practice due to relatively lack of the basic theories and methods in research. Furthermore, as its fundamental researches on theories and methods fell behind comparatively, it had been one of the important factors to restrict the development of this subject and to set a limit on the role it is supposed to play in practice, and so this had gradually been one of major issues of this field so far. Therefore, the dissertation researched on its theories and methods based on GIS in the light of application of mathematic models and geography information system in working out and carrying out land use planning. At the same time, the dissertation targeted mainly on the county level and made a case study of the district at Jincheng City in Shanxi Province in accordance with its practices for a long time on the basis of its current research on theories and methods.As it has been stated, the dissertation is an applied research on integrating land use planning with mathematic models and geography information system. The purpose of the paper is to clearly definite the planning's train of thought and to explore in more detail methods and technologies of mathematic models and informative process for drawing up, implementing and administering the plans at the level of county through research on theoretical basis of land use planning. The dissertation consists of seven chapters and can be divided into four parts. They are successively the study on the theoretical basis, the method of mathematic model, the system's design and preliminary achievement of land use planning of county level, and the conclusion and suggestion. Major contents of every part show as follows:The first part is composed of three chapters. In the section, the author has explored its ideas and theoretical basis in the light of profound consideration on its essence, connotation and goal under the guidance of systematic theory, economic theory and decisive theory on the basis of commentary on researches of land use planning both at home and abroad by analyzing the present situation of its formation, implementation, administration in China.
