The backdrop of the existence of media scarcity under the surplus presentation and all kinds of media economy controversies in the modern information society, prompt the study of media scarcity as an approach of study to media economy. The dissertation sets the relationship with media production factors and media scarcity as the paradigm of study, by arguing the essence, connotation and expression forms, examining how the media production factors of various types rules of their specific characteristics and constraints of media production, dissemination and consumption and lead to media scarcity, trying to set up a complete study of the media scarce theoretical framework.Chapterâ… of the dissertation introduce the background to the study, listed the existence of a variety of media scarcity in real life and analysis of the media economic research disciplines that exist in attribution unclear, there is a dispute the nature of the media economy, research paradigm and approach of uncertainty and so on, demonstrates the need for research; By examing the importance of scarcity through the study of economics and media economics, demonstrates the possibility of the research of media scarcity. At the same time, sort out the status of research on the basis of clearly defined research methodology and the main problem to be solved.Chapterâ…¡of the dissertation focuses on basic theory, including the media property, and the modus operandi of the media industry, the factors of production of media industry, unique characteristics of the media industry, to lay the theoretical basis for furthering on the essence, connotation and expression forms of media scarcity as the reasons that leading to media scarcity.Chapterâ…¢of the dissertation, with the concept of scarcity of economics, to define in detail the concept, essence, classification, and expression forms of media scarcity, by analyzing the characteristics of the media product, the media supply (production) and demand (consumption) of the characteristics, pointing out that the media scarcity is mainly embodied in the shortage of amount, and of structural imbalance, dysfunction and media incredibility. At the same time, our country's media industry combined with the actual development of the media manifestations of the scarcity of the four, carried out a detailed study to further confirm the existence of a wide range of media scarcity problem. The fourth to seventh chapter of the main dissertation, by using theories and cases, to verify how the problems of media scarcity come. Information factor, institutional factor, capital factor and technical factor are the main production factors of media industry; these parts of the dissertation give a detail examing of how these production factors cause the scarcity of media and what kinds of scarcity forms present under the constraints of the factors. Chapter IV of one of the main factors from the information point of view, focus on the adoption of a critical look at the intermediary role of media connect with general public and "pseudo environment", as the news value of "non-value-neutral" and the objectivity of the principle of "non-objective", as well as the analysis of audience limited rights, and demonstrated scarcity problem brought by media law. Chapter V of one the main factors from the institutional factor, through the study of the delicate relationship with the media and the Government, the history of the Government controls over the media and of the use of all means to bring proof of the government control of media scarcity problem, enterprises and institutions at the same time that the media operation carried out a detailed case analysis. Chapter VI departures from the capital factor, demonstrates the logic of capital, and how the media monopoly competition damages the diversity of the media, the media seeking for interests influence media product quality, and capital strength erodes the professional ethics of media workers, demonstrates how the commercial benefits against the benefits to the public. Chapter VII of the dissertation from the point of view of technical factor, demonstrates how the technology provide technical support for expanding the channels of dissemination and changing the models of media consumption, and to highlight and exacerbate the scarcity of media content meanwhile, analyzed how the technical difficulties inherent in it to bring the media scarcity.Conclusion part as of a brief summary of dissertation introduces a few basic conclusions and pointed out the necessary next step in the direction of further study.
