Since C. W. Tang has reported high brightness organic light-emitting device (OLEDs) with low operating voltage for the frist time in 1987, OLEDs have recived more and more attentions. As a new flat panel display technology, OLEDs have many merits such as: light weight, thin thickness, low cost, broad visual angle, fast response time, active emitting, high efficiency, etc. Owing to the research on new materials, optimization of device structure and improvement of fabrication process, OLEDs have developed rapidly. So far, red and green monochromatic devices have been commerecially available, but the efficiency and lifetime of blue OLEDs are relatively low comparing with red and green ones and limite the development of white OLEDs at same degree. In this dissertation, we have synthesized various blue materials, and optimized the device structure. Now, the main researches of blue OLEDs are focused on the development of new material and optimization of device structure. For full-color display application, the color saturation is a key factor of blue OLED. At the present time, there are few phosphorescent materials, which can achieve deep-blue emitting with CIEy<0.15. It is more difficult to achieve deep-blue emitting with high efficiency. We use synthesized Homo and Lomo separate compounds, which have high fluorescent efficiency and wide energy gap, as blue emitter and fabricate blue OLEDs. By optimized the device structure, the efficiency and color saturation of blue OLEDs are improved. The Commission International De L'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of blue OLED are (0.19, 0.28), The maximum luminous efficiency of the device obtains 14 cd/A (corresponding to an external quantum efficiency of 7.6 %). This one is quite high.
