Hydraulic manifold blocks(HMB)schemes are used increasingly in hydraulic driving and controlling fields because they can not only reduce connectors, size and complexity, but also make the structure compact. Moreover, the use of such blocks can decrease the energy loss and lower the manufacturing cost. However, with the more and more complicated hydraulic systems, the design and manufacture of HMB becomes really difficult. Therefore, in order to implement the design and manufacture integration of HMB, shorten their production cycle, lower the cost and improve their design and manufacture. In this dissertation, thorough study has been carried out on CAD/CAM integration of HMB, Meanwhile, according to the actual engineering situation, a CAD/CAM integration system of HMB has been developed and the design and manufacture integration of the blocks has been successfully implemented. The main research contents and results are as follows:According to the actual requirements of CAD/CAM integration system, a detailed general planning of HMB development is made based on functional driven including structural optimization design, virtual reality design, computational fluid mechanics simulation, CAM system design, virtual assembly design and engineering database system design, etc. On this basis, a certain architecture of CAD/CAM integration system of HMB is determined. Then the cohesion and coordination relations among each main part are made clear, the system resources is made full use and the application of the integration system is made expanding and deepening, so a foundation is established for the CAD/CAM integration system of HMB. And the key techniques to implement the integration are discussed so that a foundation has been set up for the other parts of the dissertation.On the basis of summarizing the structural features of HMB and rules of its design and manufacture, the expressions of relevant variants are put forward using the Object-Oriented approach. Then the optimization objects and constraints are defined, thus the mathematical optimization model of HMB design is represented. Aiming at such a complex multi-objective, multi-constraint, multi-modal engineering problem, and concerning the disadvantages of low speed of convergence and algorithm inefficiency when the NGSA algorithm which is formerly adopted by project group consist of genetic algorithm(GA), simulated annealing algorithm(SA) and niche technology are applied to HMB design, an improved NGSA algorithm which is given as the engine algorithm composed of GA and SA on the basis of niche technology is brought forward. The research shows that the improved NGSA has higher ability for global and local search; it is not very rigorous with the selection of control parameters; it can find all optimum values efficiently. So it is a multi-modal optimization algorithm with higher capability, efficiency, and reliability. This algorithm will be used to solve the HMB design problem.The HMB design is divided into six procedures, which are channel check, lineweb connection, network connection, shape interference check, volume reduction and layout design. The application algorithm and design improving approach of each procedure are given. The results of calculation show that these algorithms are succinct, efficient, accurate, and reliable, and they can accomplish the optimal design of integrated layout and connection scheme with high intelligence.In regard to the CAM of HMB, the application technologies such as macro process planning, tool-path planning, general NC code translator design and virtual machining environment modeling are studied in depth. Thereinto, the tool-path planning based on combination of dynamic programming and process optimized for the machining of the holes in the blocks is discussed. With the method, the processing time can be effectively shortened. After analyzing the similarities and differences of different NC systems and the characteristic of NC code, a general NC code translator based on modularization is worked out. This translator not only can make full use Of design resource, save development cost and lower the requirement of technicians, but also benefit the production process automation of enterprise.Based on the researches mentioned above, a CAD/CAM integration system of HMB with high intelligence is developed successfully by realizing the seamless linkage among Visual C++, ObjectARX development toolkit and OpenGL graphic interface. Through textual researching massive typical optimization problem example, the effectiveness of research methods and the practicality of the integration system are testified. In the end, a complex integrated hydraulic system is completely designed by using this software and the whole work flow and concrete function are overall shown.
