Mobile Internet could support mobile terminal and mobile network and could meet the demand to information when people are moving. So it has wide development prospects. Applying multicast technology to mobile Internet could improve the use of efficiency and save precious wireless network bandwidth and provide better quality of service. But because the position change of mobile node will cause the joining and leaving behaviors more frequently. This will increase the multicast implement difficulty in Internet and the study on multicast in mobile environment will be faced with huge challenge. Existing standardized multicast protocols have not considered the new character brought by mobility. So they don't adapt to the need of mobile Internet. New structures and algorithms and protocols will be needed. The multicast handover algorithm is the core of mobile Internet multicast structure. It must deal with not only dynamic group membership but also dynamic member position. The multicast and its handover algorithm in Internet is studied. The main research works and conclusions are as follows:1. The main problems of providing multicast in mobile Internet are analyzed in detail and an overview of existing researches and their development trend on mobile multicast is provided.2. On the basis of analyzing the latency of FMIPv6, this paper makes theoretical analysis to handover latency and needed buffer size of FMIPv6 in a session duration time using proposed two dimension layered mesh random walk model. This paper proposes a novel fast multicast handover algorithm M-FMIPv6/MES. Based on mobility characteristic statistic, M-FMIPv6/MES settles the problem of dependence on L2 triggers and reduces the network load. The simulation indicates M-FMIPv6/MES can lower the multicast handoff latency efficiently and outperforms the researches before.3. A fast multicast handover algorithm in WLAN environment is proposed. The algorithm does not need to modify link layer protocol and could work well without link layer trigger mechanism. It can be deployed in WLAN conveniently.4. Combining hierarchical mobility and fast handover for IPv6, the paper proposes a new mobile multicast handover mechanism based on MPLS network. And it realizes fast and smooth mobile multicast handover in MPLS network. A novel scheme of partial label aggregation based on MPLS multicast is proposed. The performance analysis indicates that the number of label in network could be cut down and the scalablity and reliability could be enhanced.5. In this paper a new architecture MAMF is proposed which could implement multicast interworking smoothly between fixed network and MANET. The test results show that MAMF scheme has merits such as low multicast packet loss rate and slight inter-arrival jitter in the course of cross-network multicast session handover and can meet the demands of real-time multimedia multicast session.
