IPv6 is the next generation Internet protocol, which is proposed to solve the problems that IPv4 is faced with. Mobility is one of the most attractive functions in IPv6. Many features are defined in IPv6 in order to implement mobility. Mobile Internet is one of the direction towards which network will tend in the future. Testing comes into being during new technique proposed. Before a new technique becomes mature, the relevant test technique must have been mature. Mobile IPv6 is in its growing stage, in which new techniques are proposed and new implementations are developed. Vendors have begun to implement mobile IPv6 into their network devices. However, due to human errors, a protocol implementation may not behave as specified. Thus, conformance testing is used to ensure the consistency between a protocol standard specification and its implementation.This dissertation analyzes mobile IPv6 protocol in detail and surveys the recent development in the state-of-the-art of protocol conformance testing, basing on which test techniques for mobile IPv6 are researched. The standard test framework, defined in ISO 9646, can't meet mobile IPv6 test requirements. This dissertation applies itself to test techniques for mobile IPv6 testing, including test framework, test transport, test method and test generation. Also mobile IPv6 testing is practiced on some implementaion.The main creativities of this dissertation are explained as follows:1. Mobile IPv6 test framework. ISO 9646 defines the standard test framework. There are two difficulities, test packets description and complicated algorithm implementation, to apply standard test framework to mobile IPv6 testing. Mobile IPv6 test framework is proposed, in which the test packets description notation (TPDN) is defined for IPv6 test packets description. Complicated algorithms in mobile IPv6 are implemented in test system by high-level programming language. Test suite cites calculating modules by algorithm property. Algorithm property is specified by algorithm name, input parameters and output parameters. Mobile IPv6 test framework can alse be applied to other protocol testing that has packets with structural features and complicated algorithms.2. Computer network protocol test transport method.
