The growth of broadband integrated multimedia communication traffic has increased the demand for telecommunication backbone networks to be able to allocate resources dynamically. QoS is a vital issue for multimedia applications. As we all know, multimedia services are clearly different with the traditional services. Because the traditional data services do not have strict QoS requirement, and they can endure packet loss, transmission delay and jitter. However, multimedia services have stringent QoS characteristics, and they hardly can endure any transmission delay, jitter and packet loss. In addition, wireless links are very unstable due to the nature of the radio wave and the frequent handoff of the mobile nodes. Then, it is very important to provide a QoS guarantee for multimedia services in wireless networks. QoS guarantee not only requires a broadband wireless access network and core network, it also need efficient QoS guarantee schemes deployed from MAC layer to application layer in wireless networks. The next generation wireless network is an integrated network with multiple typical broadband fixed and wireless access technologies such as WLAN, WPAN, WMAN, 2G, 3G and 4G mobile systems etc. And, it can also provide an open and uniform in for services.Therefore, it is very interesting and valuable to research the QoS guarantee scheme for multimedia services in the next generation wireless...
