The chance and challenge coming with information revolution are making people's life changing gradually. It has been the urgent demand for users to enjoy the high quality network service any time and any place in mobile wireless Internet. But the aspects like mobility and unreliability, etc, of mobile wireless Internet bring so much trouble to the users' QoS (Quality of Service) guarantees. Many mechanisms and protocols of fixed Internet need be considered and designed carefully again. For the mobile users, the advanced resource reservation from the target cell of handover to the other end of communication is an effective method to guarantee the users' QoS, so the improvement on existing resource reservation mechanisms is badly needed for the technology development and user demand. In this thesis, the research mainly focuses on the resource reservation mechanisms in mobile wireless Internet. The aims are not only to support the QoS guarantees, but also to efficiently use the limited network resource. With the analysis, comparison and reference to the traditional resource reservation mechanisms and some improvement methods, the procedures of resource reservation in mobile wireless Internet are divided into three stages: prediction, reservation and negotiation. On the basis of them, two resource reservation mechanisms are proposed. In the frist mechanism, prediction is made by determining and analyzing the instant movement status before handover with the probability model; soft/hard reservation, soft/hard deprivation and the negotiation mechanism are adopted during the course of reservation. In the second mechanism, prediction rules are gotten with the history records analyzed by using fuzzy decision tree; soft/hard QoS reservation are supported with the end-to-end resource reservation algorithms...
