With the progress of global economics and the wide application of Internet technology, the need of cross enterprise business process management and enterprise collaboration is more and more. Academe and enterprises all along concentrate on the enterprise application integration problem. But traditional workflow technology, enterprise application integration methods limit to inside of an enterprise or some fixed enterprises. It can not fulfill business process collaboration of dynamic enterprise alliance. So, research on business process management of dynamic enterprise alliance is needed, in which the key problem is how to integrate dynamically enterprise application into collaborative business process. It is also the research goal of this paper.In addition, Internet can provide the connection way among enterprises, but do not consider other higher business application problems. It will face some new challenges that dynamic application integration based on business process driven. First, how to define and manage business process is a new problem, witch exceeding organization outside. Moreover, these organizations can have their own autonomy. Second, dynamic application integration must use a new method but not centralized control. Finally, the environment of Internet is complex. Especially, the relation of collaborative enterprises and integrated applications are indefinable. So, a business collaboration platform based on business process driven for inter enterprise over Internet is much needed. Some new technology, such as cross organization workflow, web service, semantic ontology and distributed event technology, are enabled technologies which can be usedto solve above problems. These technologies are referenced by our some methods.We provide a Business Process Driven-Internet Enterprise Infrastructure (BPD-IEI) based on above research background and requirements. Our goal is that every enterprise can use it to achieve an Internet enterprise. The main research content and contributions of this paper is below:1. We propose a business process modeling method based on business event and business process active execution model, which is theory and concept foundation of whole paper. The business event definition, type and function are described. The concepts of business event and business rule are introduced, and business process active execution model is described. Business event can define enterprise collaboration requirement. Business process is composed of business event, business rule and activity elements. Such definition can express inter enterprise business process collaboration requirement. And its characteristics are indeterminate process structure, active, without coupling, flexible, adaptive and autonomic. In which the business event is the source of enterprise collaboration, and can standard the inter enterprise business collaboration way and description. This is also the concept core of our research.2. We provide a Business Process Driven-Internet Enterprise Infrastructure (BPD-IEI) over Internet. It is composed of two components, one is Enterprise Collaboration Infrastructure (ECI) locating enterprises, and another is Trade Association Business Broker Server (TABBS) over Internet. ECI can provide business process definition, business event and business rule definition, business event process and dynamic application integration, and so on. TABBS can provide some domain semantic support in inter enterprise business process collaboration.Business event publish/subscribe method is used to dynamically integrate enterprise applications. And the relation and work principle of components are demonstrated. This is the emphasis of our research work, and is the core of our contributions.3. To resolve the dynamic enterprise application integration under heterogeneous and different semantic environment. We propose dynamic application selection method based on trade domain semantic. This method includes business event process mechanism based on concept-layer and two phases dynamic application selection. First method can enable a business event to be transformed a domain semantic business event before it is published or subscribed. Second method can confirm enterprise application integrated into business process from many candidates.4. To enable business process design intelligent, we propose business goal oriented dynamic business process definition method. A business goal oriented business process concept library is defined, which is the foundation of dynamic business process definition. We can dynamically define business process based on user business process goal requirement using dynamic process definition method. These process definitions can be references for user to define actual business process. This method can provide dynamic mapping relation between business requirements and business processes, and can enable business process to adapt dynamically the changes of business requirement.Finally, our some implement work is introduced. The results show our methods can support business process driven dynamic application integration over Internet. And combining the intel 1 igent platform virtual travel agency project (IPVita), which is our implementing application project, the applications of our architecture and methods are demonstrated. These research and implement work can indicate our research goal and content have higher research value and application value.
