The contemporary Chinese society in modernization drive is facing a deepsociety's transition, with which enormous shock and changes of people's socialpsychology come together. With the promotion day by day of the modernized reform,people's modernized question is prominent gradually, and become one of China'ssocial main agendas. Compared with modernized road of what the west goes through,what China faced is to account for the realistic national conditions of more than 70%people in the countryside of the whole country. This huge peasant's colony is not onlythe motive force of China's modernization drive, but also the obstruction. So how togo on the modernized transformation to peasants by complying with Chinamodernized paces and reforming rhythm, become a great strategic objective atpresent. And traditional peasant mentality has already become collective subconsciousplanted in contemporary peasants of a piece of " complex " deeply through the feudalhistorical accumulation of several thousand years, the transformation is beset withresistance, have difficulty in taking a step to modernize peasant mentality. But withthe development of mass media technology, the TV has already been popularized inthe village of China gradually, it has occupied the daily life of contemporary peasantsprogressively with the technological advantage that seeing and hearing combined with,Modern information, such as news, amusement, advertisement, etc enter ten millionpeasant families that spread all over the country through the TV. The content ofmodernity contained are eroding, clearing up, changing the traditional idea ofcontemporary peasants' imperceptibly day after day. However, entering into thecommercialized spring tide furtherly while unlocking on the market of media of TVset, the cultural role of the TV is changing too thereupon, TVs at all levels seekingdevelopment in the struggle for existence are being sought, distinguish, orient one'sown interests ceaselessly as the market main body. The social benefit makes way forthe economic benefits gradually. Because of the low level of consume, economicincome, people in the countryside already have difficulty in becoming the targetaudience of the media, Facing the spread inclination that the high income of city,people's culture of the high consumption stratum become culture of the contemporaryTV. The popular culture on the TV signified by post-modernity basically, havealready acted counter to the modernized strategic task of China's peasant mentalitywhich emphasize the liberation of the perceptual desire, publicize consumerismideology and so on against the modernity idea. So, it is realistic that reviewingcontemporary Chinese TV culture, investigating it macroscopically from thesustainable development strategy of the media of the TV, and setting up the benignTV culture ecology which accords with the China's actual conditions, not only todevelop the whole country, but also to the media's own development of the TV. On the base of this, the text has investigated mass media and people'smodernization to the contemporary Chinese realistic meaning from developing thecommunication theory and China's linguistic context; and then has analyzed the 3复旦大学博士论文 英文摘要importance with peasant mentality's modernizing and ecology of present peasants inmass media; probed into cultural landscape of the TV media and the inclination topost-modernity.
