The Rise And Fall Of Modern Publishing Industry Of Fujian Province: A Perspective On Political Changes

The publication are important tools for communicating new knowledge and enlightening the public, and modern publishing industry of Fujian Province, which rose in Late-Qing Period and died out with Kuomintang Government fell from power, played an active role in promoting this area's modernization. Meanwhile, the development of modern publishing industry of the province was restricted greatly by political circumstances and the conflicts between political powers in those times. A perspective on political changes, the dissertation makes detailed narration and deeply analysis on the rise and fall of modern publishing industry of the province, including its initiation, adjustment, development, prosperity and termination. The history experiences show that development of modern publishing industry of Fujian Province benefited from good political circumstances, and its decline or even its die out related to the political changes of the province as well. Consequently, we come to the conclusion that political change is the vital essence for the rise and fall of modern publishing industry of Fujian Province, and the existence of folk publishing bodies is a prerequisite for the development of publishing industry of both Modern Fujian Province and Modern China.
