Research & Development Of Fault Diagnosis Expert System For Modern Airliner

It is unavoidable for modern airliner to malfunction in its routine use, and disaster might be caused by its faults, so fault diagnosis is a very important proof of its flight safety. In view of the complex and difficulties of the fault diagnosis for modern airliner, the fault diagnosis always needs the experts' participation. But expert is rare, so we have studied and developed the fault diagnosis expert system for modern airliner in order to collect, summarize and generalize expertise, improve the quality of fault diagnosis, and take the place of expert in a manner. The main achievements in this thesis are:1. A development life cycle model that is applicable to the development of expert system has been presented firstly, according to the development process of this fault diagnosis expert system and software engineering.2. An intelligent fault diagnosis model of modern airliner has been constructed. The achievements of expert system, fault diagnosis, reliability engineering and artificial neural net have been applied in this model, in accordance with the characteristics of airliner fault diagnosis. The requirements for fault diagnosis of modern airliner have been met, and the capacities of experts' fault diagnosis have simulated by the model. The model has good flexibility and comprehensiveness. The deficiencies of current methods have been overcome in some way.3. A340 fault diagnosis expert system prototype has been developed by means of VB6.0 (Microsoft Visual Basic) based on Oracle 8i. The capacities of knowledge storage, management and usage of the software prototype have been enhanced by the help of Oracle. And the rapid development of prototype has been accomplished in the virtue of VB6.0. The technical feasibility of our achievements has been verified through the software. The software prototype had been admitted by users of CES.
