In this paper,a systematic study on MMW seeker is performed from practical theoretical approaches to real-time system hardware realization. The first part of this paper is theoretical algorithms including building radar targets model based on scattering center and fast matching classification for one dimensional high-resolution range profile(HRRP);the second part is system realization including performance analysis and algorithm mapping of cluster-bus multiprocessor system, design of multiprocessor scheduling algorithm, realization of missile-carrying multiprocessor system. In the introduction, the background and basic theories of the study are introduced. First the development of MMW radar precision guiding weapons is introduced;then the research methods of wideband MMW radar target recognition are briefly reviewed;after analyzing the requirements for the processor in the real-time signal processing domain, the architecture of the multiprocessor system is discussed;lastly the main work of the paper is summed up.In chapter 2,a new target recognition method based on one dimensional profiles is proposed. First the 3-D scattering model of the targets is built based on the theory of radar target scattering center in the optics region and measure data, then by comparing the profiles of actual target with the profiles of model target, the two most resemble profiles are regarded as the target recognition result. This method can save the space of memory and reduce the computation time. Because only the parameters of scattering centers are stored and genetic algorithm is used to search for aspect angle, the method is very suitable for the employment in real-time and restrictive environment. In chapter 3,the architecture of MMW seeker is studied. Parallel processing is a trend of radar signal processing. After analyzing the characteristic of the parallel processing system ,some problems about design missile-carrying processing system are pointed out;network in the parallel processing system has become bottleneck and affect the performance of system,so the processing efficiency is analyzed in a multiprocessor system based on cluster-bus and some rules in designing the network in the multiprocessor system are brought out;genetic algorithm is used for scheduling in the multiprocessor system, and a scheduling algorithm is described to suit arbitrary number of tasks, unequal task processing time, arbitrary precedence relation among tasks and arbitrary number of parallel processor,so that the schedule length will be minimized;finally,anATR algorithm is mapped to a ring multiprocessor system ,and a block diagram using DSP device is constructed. In chapter 4,the study is performed on real-time system hardware realization of ATR. TMS320C80 is selected as the kernel processor in multiprocessor system. The system is designed, which consists of a development system based on PC ISA-bus,a missile-carrying processing system and a 4-channel data acquisition system based on PC PCI-bus. The actual data are used to verify the development system and the missile-carrying system. The result show that the system has achieved designed goal.
