It is consider that magnetic suspension is a high technique nowadays in the world. The magnetic suspension technique is widely used in the field of transportation and mechanic industry such as Magnetic levitate train (Maglev) and Active magnetic bearing (AMB). Magnetic suspension high speed polygon scanner is first designed and tested by this paper. And as a new type of magnetic suspension motor, it can replace high speed motor in the military and industry to realize high speed scanning and image-forming. Besides it is a key unit used in the laser display system. An introduction of magnetic suspension development, application and control technique is shown at the beginning of this paper. The model of magnetic suspension polygon scanner is designed including structure design, ferromagnetic material choice, parameter calculation and the model construction. By using digital signal processor (DSP) and industry personal computer (IPC), the hardware design of the magnetic suspension polygon scanner control system is finished. The accurate math model is deduced by the author, and the transform function and state space equation is achieved by using linearization. Based on the math model, further study and simulation on controller design such as PID control, state feedback control, fuzzy control, Hoo control and balance control is discussed, and various control algorithm simulation and comparison are given. At the end of paper, magnetic suspension polygon scanner control and test are acquired in the experiment, and the performance of polygon scanner is as better as design. As stated above, the key techniques of this research work are rotor suspension rigidity and stability when disturbed, fixed-axis ability and vibration during high speed rotation, the magnetic suspension polygon scanner controller design with batter performances to quicken the response speed of the system, to improve the abilities of anti-disturbing aIid robustness. The innovations of this paper are as follows: the design of two-point attract magnets and the structure of ball-shaped rotor, setting-up of the magnetic suspension polygon scanner math model and CCS, CVS, CFS control structure models, presentation of a controller design method with 揵alance control? the realization of magnetic suspension polygon scanner control with DSP.
