Nowadays, with the construction of high-speed railways, passengers dedicated lines, inter-city rail transit and speed-raising of existing lines, an express passenger transportation network connecting with major cities is taking preliminary shape, in which high-speed railways and passenger dedicated lines are the backbone. The construction management of passenger dedicated lines concern with such aspects as engineering technology, economics, management science and so on. It is a technology-intensive and complicated systematic project.With the development of computer and system simulation technology, virtual dynamic simulation of construction process can be realized on computer by using advanced visualization means. The efficient management of project information can be realized to offer proper and effective information support to project management decision. In this research,4D modeling theory and GIS (geographic information system) are introduced to the management of passenger dedicated line construction project. The dynamic visual construction quality management information system for passenger dedicated line project is developed by building project information management model based on GIS and 4D model of bridge construction management. The main Contents are summarized as follows:(1) Research on the bridge construction scheduling simulation and resource optimization. The resource-constrained project scheduling optimization and resource leveling optimization problem under uncertainty in bridge construction are analyzed. The application of Monte Carlo simulation method and intelligent optimization algorithms, such as genetic algorithm and ant colony optimization, are expounded in details.(2) The WebGIS is introduced to railway construction project management, the railway project construction information database is designed, and the "Railway Project Construction Management Information System based on WebGIS" is developed. It makes the visual network management of railway project construction information possible.(3) Building a 4D model for bridge construction process dynamic simulation. The modern construction management 4D modeling theory is introduced to the railway bridge construction management. Base on the three-dimensional bridge model, taking the construction schedule as the additional time factor and bridge construction management information as the additional attribute factor, the bridge construction management process is dynamic simulated to offer aid decision information for bridge construction management. Using the Flex+J2EE multi-layer network application development technology, the "Yellow River Bridge construction process dynamic simulation system" was established. It makes the bridge construction management informatized and visualized.(4) Taking major project of passenger dedicated line and standard for constructional quality as objects, the "construction quality information mobile inquiry sub-system based on PDA" is developed. By making the information of major project of passenger dedicated line and standard for constructional quality digitalized, the mobile inquiry for project information and quality standard is realized.
