The Study For A Higher Level Livable City

With cities become the main residence of human beings,how to build a fine suitable living home has attracted more and more attention from scholars and the public. As times develops, today, there are enough reasons for humans not only to build a most beautiful, ecological, and livable, but more importantly, the city environment should be able to actively ascend human life quality and life taste; to inspire and promote residents to realize their life values。Thus this new style city, suitable for the requirement of new era, can build actively and innovative city culture and spirit, in which the residents could own a kind of rich life with the characteristics of constantly forging ahead, and pursuing high grade of life and enjoying pursuing a noble quality life style. There are huge differences between this new city and the traditional livable city. Compared with the traditional livable cities theory, the most notable feature of the innovative livable city is its positive initiative. The goal of building innovative livable city, is not make its residents to passively accept environmental resources and passively enjoy cosy life provided by this pleasant environment, but to construct a kind of positive, risk consciousness and constantly pioneering and enterprising city spirit and culture environment. In this urban environment, residents can not only achieve their physiological needs, security needs, attribution and love needs and respected demand, the more important is they can realize the human biggest demand, that is self-fulfilling demand.First this thesis studies the main livable citiy theories home and aboroad, and has found the development rule of all these theories, that is, each theory is in line with its times' economic and social development level, and the solution to the problems facing urban living environment in that time. In general they are passivity in facing to solve the urban troubles in each era. In consequence, human city construction theory sank into the cycle of passivity to the changes of the environment, which was always like this:as soon as solved one problem, another problem would appear, then humans must focus on how to find new solution.. We should not allowe this cycle happen again now. Risk society theory and the theory of sustainable development have provided ideological and theoretical basis to put forward a new, positive and innovative livable city theory. Based on combining of the risk society theory, the theories of sustainable development, people-oriented thoughts, and Maslow's hierarchy theory of human needs, this research puts forward a new kind of urban construction theory--innovative livable cities, in this new theory, it can not only provide amenity living conditions, ecological environment, convenient transportation system, sustainable economic structure, and a harmonious and safe living environment required by the of theories of traditional livable cities, but also provide an active spirit and culture environment to promote citizens to build innovative, pioneering city; and provide incentive environment to prompt each citizen to elevate his life goals, life taste and aspiration, and to perfect his personality, and realize his life value. Living in such cities, residents can not only enjoy the most modern material life and most pleasant environment, but can also prompt them to realize their life pursuit and realize their maximum life values. So this should be the highest level, and most imaginative and innovative urban environment so far. He who can live in such city environments, would be happiest citizen in the world.Finally, the study designed a new set of evaluation index for innovative livable city including subjective and objective judgement.
