Pre-and-post of the Qingli Period of the Nothem Song Dynasty,study of Confucian classics was in the stage of "Great Change".At this period,Ouyang Xiu not only promoted the development and dissemination of the new genius of Confucian classics study(argumentation Confucian classics)through proposition of the imperial examinations and recommending "Mr. Song Chusan",but broke the old tradition of Confucian classics study by writing books academically and proposed a new theory in Confucian classics study.He played a key role in the revival of the Confucian studies and transformation process of the Confucian classics (transforming from sinology into the study of Song).With the comprehensive arrangement and excavation of Ouyang Xiu's thought of Confucian classics study,this article tries to identify the origin,and outline the panorama of Confucian classics study,revert Ouyang Xiu's status and role he had ever played in the history of Confucian studies and Confucian classics study.The introduction part has summarized the former scholar's study of Ouyang Xiu's Confucian classics thoughts.Though the history of Confucian classics study has realized that change of style in the Qingli Period of the Northern Song Dynasty was the "Great Change",and the Argumentation Study began at the Qingli Period,those studies still believed the traditional old neo-confucianism,and began with the "Mr.Song Chusan".In fact,Ouyang Xiu was the leader of revival of the Confucian studies and transformation process of the Confucian classics.The text is composed of six chapters.Chapter One-Formation and Development of Ouyang Xiu's Thoughts about Confucian Classics,mainly discusses the formation and development of Ouyang Xiu's thoughts about Confucian classics,was divided into three stages by the two dividing points of Ouyang Xiu's demotion into "Yiling" and "Chuzhou".The stages are 1)reading the classics from the early childhood,and taking up the Confucian classics' official career;2)being tired of people who explain classics in a misunderstanding way and boldly suspecting them;and 3)writing books and putting forward the development of Confucian classics.Chapter Two-Ouyang Xiu's Thoughts about Study of Yi Firstly,Chapter Two analyses the characteristics of his suspicion towards the other thoughts about leaning of Yi;Secondly,it discusses the theory of solving Yi;Finally,it points out the difference between divinatory symbols in Ouyang Xiu's Yi Tongzi Wen and the notes made by Wang Bi.Chapter Three-Ouyang Xiu's Thoughts about Study of Book of Songs Firstly,Chapter Three discusses the development background of Ouyang Xiu's Study of Book of Songs;Secondly, it discusses his detailed cognition towards Book of Songs,and quest for the original meaning for better understanding of the poems,differentiates and analyses Ouyang Xiu's criticism to Xu, Zhuan,Jian as well as the study on the times of creating Book of Songs;Finally,it makes dialectical analysis towards several key questions about the study of Book of Songs,and points out the disaccord between the pre-and-post Ouyang Xiu's thoughts about study of Book of Songs, clarifying those misunderstanding.Chapter Four-Ouyang Xiu's Thoughts about Study of Chunqiu Firstly,Chapter Four discusses the development background of the Study of Chunqiu from the mid-Tang Dynasty to the early-Song Dynasty;Secondly,it analyses Ouyang Xiu's opinion towards the relationships between "Three Biographies" and "Classics",differentiates and analyses his theory about the brushwork and meaning of Chunqiu;Finally,it discusses how important Ouyang Xiu's thoughts about study of Chunqiu in his history works creation.Chapter Five-Ouyang Xiu's thoughts about Shu,Li,Erya as well as Four Books(Daxue, Lunyu,Zhongyong,Mengzi)Chapter Five collects Ouyang Xiu's thoughts about Zhouli, Shangshu,Erya,Liji and Lunyu,Zhongyong,Mengzi of the Four Books,indicate that Ouyang Xiu not only attached importance to the traditional study of the "Six Classics",but also made great contributions towards the study of "Four Books" at the rising stage.The study on Ouyang Xiu's thoughts of Liji,Lunyu and Mengzi in this article is the new development towards Ouyang Xiu's thoughts of Confucian Classics,filling up the vacancy of former study about Ouyang Xiu.Chapter Six-The Character and Impact of Ouyang Xiu's Study of Confucian Classics This chapter concludes all the thoughts of Ouyang Xiu's Study of Confucian Classics,discusses the characters of his thoughts,and points out the contribution Ouyang Xiu has made in the foundation of Theory "Confucian Orthodoxy","Civilization",and "Legitimacy" at the early of Song Dynasty.
