A Comparative Study Between Shiji And Zhanguoce On Linguistics

Shiji and Zhanguoce were composed in the period from pre-Qin to Qin Dynasty and Han Dynasty,which is a key historical stage of the development of Chinese language and culture . Shiji set the stylistic rules and layout for the following history books of our country which comprehensively recorded over three thousands year's history from Yan-Huang to Han Dynasty Wu emperor. Shiji presents the basic information of Western Han's language and Produced deeply impact on later ages. Simaqian consulted a wide range of history literatures in the process of writing ,which mostly are works of pre-Qin such as Shangshu , Shijing , Zuozhuan and so forth. Through comparison , we found out that one book was quoted up to 98 times among those reference literatures . So, what is the book on earth? That book was Zhanguoce considered by Bangu Yangxiong .However, we can't find the name of Zhanguoce in the whole content of Shiji, that's because it wasn't named so at that time. According to the research, we ascertain Zhanguoce is Duanchangshuo mentioned in Shiji.As far as the relation between Shiji and Zhanguoce , it was generally considered that Simaqian mainly consulted Zhanguoce , in another word , Zhanguoce is the primary literature source. But, we think Shijia and Zhanguoce share the same source---Duanchangshuo .We try to conduct the language research on Shiji and Zhanguoce through various angles by using different methods .First of all , we take thorough statistics of the relational part of Shiji and Zhanguoce, and then , contrast the results respectively by diagrams, build up the database .Second, analyst the typical synonyms appeared in Shiji and Zhanguoce and the the change of relational components of them , while the statistical result can be important proof of the study of synonyms and their development.Third, we contrast the grammar between Shiji and Zhanguoce. It turned out they do have some differentiations lying in conjunction , interjection , the structure of"Zhi"(之) ,etc. although they have a lot in common .Generally in a word , this is the first thoroughly and systemically contrasting study between Shiji and Zhanguoce on their language., what's more , we put forward a new recognition towards the relation between Shiji and Zhanguoce.
