This thesis aims at the anthologies of Qing Dynasty. And sort out the anthologies from some aspects such as compilation, comment, publish and spread of the selected works. According to the background, politics, academic thoughts, literary creation and the trend of thought in literature, this thesis makes a research on literary criticism. There are four chapters in this thesis.It makes a study on the Qing people's anthologies of the ancient prose in the first chapter. First it makes a general exposition on the comment and selection of the ancient prose. Then it makes two monographic studies on the selected works which was compiled under the order of the emperor and the selected works of the eight greatest prose writers of Tang Song compiled by the early Qing Dynasty people.In chapter 2 there is an obvious difference in the aims of the compilation between the Qing people's anthologies and the ancient anthologies. The thesis uses a whole chapter to make a deep research on the Qing people's anthologies. Then it makes a general comment on the literature value and the significance of literary criticism.What the object of study in chapter 3 is that the Qing people's selected works of ancient rhythmical prose. First, it makes a total discussion about the rhythmical prose. Then it makes a research on the rhythmical prose anthologies of LiZhaoluo, Peng Zhaosun, XuLian and so on. During the late reign of Emperor GuangXu, there was a flouring production of rhythmical prose, and more anthologies appeared, this chapter makes a monographic study on this period selected rhythmical prose.In the forth chapter it makes a study on the selected works of Ming Dynasty. We can see the features of times easily from the selected works. It makes a study on some articles based on the anthology of HuangZongxi.
