With desire to transfer the China into a Christian country, the missionaries came across seas to China who was greatly shaken by western influences in late Qing and found themselves in the whirlpool of the contact between the China and the western world.Missionaries had great contributions to the exchanging between China and the western world. They also had great achievements in social undertakings such as anti-banded foot, building schools and hospitals. All of these promoted the progress of modern China. However the hostility and attack on Church were unprecedented.Missionary cases which continued nearly half century and covered nearly all over the China may be regarded as marvelous phenomenon during the contact between the China and the western world in modern times.As seen in the topic, by describing the beginning, the negotiation and the end of the missionary affairs and cases, the thesis try to show the different roles of official, gentry, common people(non- believer), the forces of Church(including missionaries, believers and ambassadors who intervened the missionary cases) during this process, including their talks, their actions and their ideas .And the thesis also try to show the changes on these talks, actions and ideas during half century, for it is these changes that reflect the interactions among different parties in missionary cases.Speaking with more details, the thesis try to study the three questions as follows:...
