Quanzhen parapsychology (north sect) of Jin and Yuan dynasty is the parapsychology of Quanzhen Religion established by Wang Chongyang during Jin and Yuan dynasty. On the basis of the thoughts of Lao-tzu and Zhuang-Zi as well as traditional Taoism, it broadly absorbed and integrated the Confucianists especially the Confucian school of idealist philosophy of the Song dynasty and Buddhism particularly parapsychology of Zen. It elaborated the parapsychology issues including immortality, vital energy cultivation etc., based on the primary scope of moral mind, instinct, energy, emptiness, quiescence and essence etc., meanwhile, it combined three sects. So it is a unique parapsychology in Chinese history of Taoism and ideas.Wang Chongyang was the initiator of Quanzhen Sect and the founder of Quanzhen parapsychology. He put forward the Quanzhen parapsychology of integrating three sects into one, and other basic opinion of understanding the mind and knowing the instinct and strengthening both instinct and life. So the unique parapsychology of Quanzhen Sect was established. Lustration cultivation theory of Man Danyang claimed to forget secularismand see instinct, be quiet and inactive which outlined the basic feature of Quanzhen parapsychology. Qiu Chuji and his disciples of Longmen Section claimed that immortals should be exercised from two aspects of inaction and promising. They emphasized that Taoism was outer and Confucianists were inner, people should advance from both outer experience and inner mind. All of these showed the strong spirit of entry into the society, which can both meet the mental need of an individual and the realistic needs of the social group. Hence parapsychology of Quanzhen Sect had been developed and enriched. Panshan Sect absorbed the Confucianists' and Zen's parapsychology taking Hao Datong as the precursor, and Wang Zhijin as the representative. They established parapsychology with rich Zen color taking the mind as a beginning. Seven famous people in Quanzhen Sect namely Tan Chuduan, Wang Chuyi, Liu Changsheng, Sun Buer and so on brought forward some parapsychology with unique features according to their own experiences. Their thoughts greatly enriched Quanzhen parapsychology. Thus Quanzhen parasychology became as important as Zen and the Confucianists theory. And a brilliant page had been left in Taoism history. Later, two masters of Taoism, namely, Li Daochun and Chen Zhixu established a series ofQuanzhen parapsychology system by learning from both the north and south sect, making Quanzhen parapsychology to a new pinnacle, and finally laid a historical foundation for Quanzhen parapsychology in Taoism, ideas and culture. For the research of QuanZhen theory, we must always adhere to the world outlook and methodology of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, the combination of history and logic as well as the unification of comprehension and argumentation. The purpose of having a deep research on the theory of QuanZhen Sects from different aspects of philosophy, religion and a history of ideas are as follows: on one hand, people can have a deep and overall understanding of QuanZhen Sect's history and contribution in order to ensure right understanding of the facts; on the other hand, people can extract the valuable thought from it by making the past serve the present to promote the development of spiritual civilization and build a socialist harmonious society.
