"han Feizi" Vocabulary Study

Lexical Studies on Hanfeizi is such a paper that makes a systematic study to the vocabulary of ancient special book.It deals with the language of Hanfeizi which was written by Han Fei in Zhan Guo era.The Study is based on the diachronic and the synchronic analysis methods. We investigate the facts about the vocabulary phenomena in Hanfeizi through the quantitative analysis as well as the qualitative analysis. We hope this study can offer some valuable facts and viewpoints through specially study of Hanfeizi.The relations between the vocabulary study of a special book and the whole vocabulary study is like the relation between the point and the surface .Our study is based on Hanfeizi but is not limited in Hanfeizi because the language materials which a special book can provide are limited.Besides making full use of the materials in Hanfeizi ,if needed,we also use materials correlated with this in other ancient books and records which are in the same time with Hanfeizi such as Zhanguoce or Lvshichunqiu.etc.This paper first makes a systematic study to the vocabulary in Hanfeizi.lt filled the blank in the study of Chinese vocabulary history.PeopIe who study ancient Chinese vocabulary pay more attention on scripture books than Zishu before.Even if they study Hanfeizi,their emphases always are Hanfeizi's philosophy system, ideology structure,different edition,true or false sections and chapters or explaining the meaning of words.They neglected the study value of Hanfeizi vocabulary.This paper first takes the Hanfeizi vocabulary as study emphases and uses the lexicology study method instead of exegetics study method.It blends the theory discuss and study practice into a whole one.We try to think of some theory questions.such as complex syllable word.synonym and antonym in order to offer some valuable materials and study result for constructing ancient Chinese dynastic history or all Chinese history.The paper is divided into six chapters.The first part has briefly introduced Han Fei's life experience and the state of affairs which Hanfeizi is handed down from ancient times.In the meantime.we have demonstrated the sense of the study on Hanfeizi vocabulary and put forward three-dimensional methodology.The second part has summarized,simply collated and complemented the deficiencies in Hanfeizixinjiaozhu.The third chapter has described the monosyllable features.listed the monosyllable table in Hanfeizi,and demonstrated two wiewpoints that the usage of Chinese vocabulary has the clear and definite tendency.the semantic change promoted the change of syntactic construction. We take some words as examples to explain this question.The fourth chapter firsrt made a symatic study to the complex syllable words in Hanfeizi,listed complex syllable words table of Hanfeizi.We specially described the relative typical phenomena of the complex syllable words which have the same morphemes but contrary orders.The fifth part classified,summarized and analysised the materials.methods and results about ancient Chinese synonym.We think ancient Chinese synonym are such two or more words that have the same meaning in some glosseme.They have syntactical functions and morphological features.they are in the synchronic section.We listed the table of synonym in Hanfeizi.classified and discriminated them.The sixth part first made a overall describing and analyses on the antonym in Hanfeizi,listed the table of antonym in Hanfeizi and probed into their type,origin,correspondence and distribution rules.
