The thesis aims to study YiMeng culture and literature from a "revolution" angle. It tries to put forward the two epistemological frame about China's development path: that is evolutional rationalism and constructivist rationalism,through interpreting the core of YiMeng culture in the 20th century--revolution,and the analyzing the theoretical transformation, the psychological foundation and the time consciousness that related to revolution.Chapter one. It discusses the inherent relation between Yimeng culture and literature. This part first difines the connotation and characteristic of YiMeng culture simply, and the influence it brings to YiMeng literature. Then the connotation and extension of the YiMeng literature is defined, and the literary writings in different periods is reviewed. This is the basic work of the whole study.Chapter two. It discusses the relation between YiMeng literature and the new China's literature in 20 century, and the relation between YiMeng literature and the China culture in the 20th century. In May 4th movement period the anti-traditional culture restrained the creation of YiMeng literature. In 1940's period, the revolution culture and the war culture stimulated the development of literature greatly. After the'new China founded, socialist culture promoted the prosperity of literature. In the new period, there appeared a series of young writers who had deeply reflected the war and the revolution happened ever in this area.Chapter three. It lays particular emphasis on the core culture of YiMeng-revolution. The traditional idea of revolution in China was brought into"two - wheel revolution "category in the whole world extension by modern theoretical conversion at the beginning of the 20th century, that is ,the England meliorate revolution and the France violence revolution. And the revolutionary practices carried out by Dr. SunYetsin exerted a great influence upon China's revolutionary path in the 20th century. This part also analyses the psychological foundation upon which revolution emerged- Eutopia ideality and the influence of the time mythification to the inherent logic of revolution.Chapter four. It explores the influence of revolution upon the female of YiMeng, and the reflection of this influence in literary works. This part reviews the development of the women's Liberal Movement of YiMeng in the 20th century, and explains that the revolution and national war has improved the female social status. The writings of this period visualized two female images: traditional woman and revolutionary women. The visualization of the two type woman reflected the changing course of the male - writer's ideas towards the female in different periods.
