Yi language has six dialects. This dissertation aims at a systematic research of the form class description of lexical features of Yi language based on a case study of North Yi dialect, which is of great academic value in Yi language as well as essential application significance in Yi language teaching.This dissertation is divided into10chapters.Chapter One is an introduction, including a brief introduction of Yi people, Yi language and Yi word, an overview of Yi language and research of morphology of Yi language at home and abroad, and the explanation of Yi language lexical research meaning and purpose, content and target, data sources and the route of technology, innovation and difficulty.Chapter Two gives a discussion of the relevant theories and methods of morphological research, namely, the theories and methods of morphological research on Yi Language, especially the definition of a series of terms like word class, morpheme, word, phrase, affix, quasi affix, and morphological research boundary is specified in this dissertation.Chapter Three analyzes the constitution and components of morphology of Yi Language, detailed in the basic units, categories and thesaurus of Yi Language, the classification of morphemes in Yi Language in the perspective of morphology. A definition of gestalt is also put forward in the research.Chapter Four studies the morphological research on noun derivations of Yi Language, with the form class description of the internal word formation of derivations in the perspective of meaning and functionChapter Five studies the morphological research on verb derivations and adjective derivations of Yi Language, with the form class description of the internal word formation of derivations in the perspective of meaning and function Chapter Six is the research on the compound morphology of Yi Language, the strong mode. With the form class description of the internal structure of Yi Compounds, it focuses on noun compounds, verb compounds, and adjective compounds.Chapter Seven is the research on reduplication morphology of Yi Language, with the form class description of the reduplication structure of nouns, verbs, and adjectives.Chapter Eight is the research on the tetrasyllabic morphology, with the detailed form class description of the internal word formation of Yi tetrasyllables.Chapter Nine is the relationship between the phonology and morphology of Yi Language, including the impacts of pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm on morphology, as well as the types of borrowing words in Yi Language.Chapter Ten is the conclusion, including the reviews of the theories and methods,the main viewpoints, and the suggestive suggestions of the further researchesafterwards.
