Meng Yao Zheng Dian is one of the three classics of Mongolian medicine. It was written in Tibetan words by Zhanbra Dorje who was the famous Mongolian physician among the ten Mongolian ethnic scientists in 1850s.However, until the end of 1980s was this great work translated into Mongolian words. Meng Yao Zheng Dian is well known as its completion and systematicness. Until now it is the most comprehensive, richest and the most characteristic of herbaceous medicaments in all ancient Mongolian medical works. In this dissertation, I deeply studied the herbaceous medicaments of this work besides briefly introducing Zhanbra Dorje's life and the version of Meng Yao Zheng Dian. In addition, Re-textual research was carried on those berichtigt herbaceous medicaments.Three innovations have been summarized as following:Firstly, we initially digitalized herbaceous medicaments of Meng Yao Zheng Dian;1. Video database of Tibetan engraved forms and Mongolian version were established, which made the ancient works can be stored for a long time.2. On the base of systematical sorts of Chinese version of Meng Yao Zheng Dian, a new method was used to form structured document after deeply analyzing and indexing the herbaceous medicaments. Then established the Structured Data Base-< Knowledge database> with the help of KBMS(knowledge base management system) which is developed by Institute for History of Medicine, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. The established database not only achieved the intelligent search with full-text search, key words search as well as semantic information retrieval and technical analyzer of the data mining but also provided the sharing service on the base of internet.Secondly, we found and summarized his historical achievements to Mongolian physic as follows.1. He initially added pictorial annotations for traditional Mongolian medicines, which greatly contributed to Mongolian medicine identification, collection, usage and study.2. He initially annotated the Mongolian medicine names by Mongolian words, which started the steps of Mongolian medicine standardization.3. He annotated the Mongolian medicine names by Mongolian Tibetan, Chinese and Manchu four different language, which are scientific valuable and useful for all the readers. Meanwhile, it plays an important role in the communication among the four ethnic physical fields.4. He basically changed the messed situation of the clinic medicine usage resulting from the confusion of different medicine nomenclature in Mongolian altiplano.Lastly, we regarded Zhanbra Dorje have indelible contributions to the building of Mongolian medical research system of its own not only because he proceed local materials to solve the problems from the reality of Mongolian Plateau but also because he used the Tibetan medicine for reference without losing the characteristics of Mongolian medicine. In addition, he preferred to identifying the authenticity and merits of medicinal materials using plant morphological traits. This further improved the clinical effects of Mongolian medicine.
