Objective: Establish Mu-xi department in the theory of TCM; research of diseases pathogenesis, to provide theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.Methods:Learning Chinese classics, to systemize evolution of Mu-xi and to determine the concept of Mu-xi.Mu-xi diseases is the floorboard of the diseases occurring in the Mu-xi. Based on the clinical reports and clinical cases that are effective, mathematical statistics and clinical analysis are done.Results: Mu-xi is recovered to be the organizational structure connected with the eyeball, like a piece of cord. Mu-xi is the continue organization of Wu-lun in front of the eye, and the collection of the eyeball. The theory of Liver and Orifice depedents the relation between Liver and Mu-xi.It is found that Mu-xi diseases are due to the discordance of Liver, and often appears interior syndrome, hot syndrome, and weak syndrome. Relieving Qi stagnancy in liver , and replenishing vital essence to tonify kidney and liver are the main principles of reatment.Conclusion:Mu-xi is an important visual structure. Mu-xi diseases are separated from intraocular diseases, with distinct characteristic. To set up new conceive of Mu-xi theory system is to enrich the theory of ophthalmology of the Traditional Chinese Medicine, being important for clinic work.
